Oh he told me so much!Follow me! I will take you
on a tour.

This is a map of America. There are 50 states.
Oh wow! This is better than our forest.
Where should we go first?
Lets go to the White House first. There is so much history to learn about.
3

This is beautiful! What happens here?
The White House is where the president lives!

Being the President sounds fun. What does the president do?
Silly Rocco! Being the presidentis a hard job. The president is in
charge of making laws to keep the
citizens of america safe. Come on lets keep exploring.
The White House is located in Washington D.C.
It has been the home to 42 presidents.
5

Where are we now?
This is the Washington Monument! This is an important American symbol! It honors the first
president of the United States of America, George Washington.
6

When was it built?
The Washington Monument started being built in 1848 and finished in 1884.
Wow! It took a really long time! The Washington Monument was created to remember
how great and brave the first American president,
George Washington was. When it was first built it was
the tallest building in the world.

Where are we now, Bonnie?
We are in Philadelphia!
Why did we come here?
I wanted to show you another important American symbol.
This one is called the Liberty Bell.

I want to ring it!
Wait, Rocco! You can't. It is protectedby rope. It only rings on special
occasions like Independence Day.
Aw man!
Come on, Rocco! Let's keep exploring.
Next stop: New York
The bell was made in England and cracked
shortly after being brought to America.

this is the Statue of Liberty. It was a gift from France. It symbolizes
freedom to Americans.
Wow! Why is it green?
Well it wasn't always green! It use to be brown but turned green
over time.
The Statue of Liberty is sometimes called Lady
Liberty. In one hand she holds a torch and in the
other she holds a tablet.
10

Quick! Look above Lady Liberty! That's a Bald Eagle.Bald Eagles are the national bird of America.
Why is it the national bird?
It was chosen the national bird because of it's beauty and bravery.
The Bald Eagle is not really a bald at all.
