Yes! Sally, the Southwest is home to dry, open land. Many of these dry
environments are called deserts. A desert is a dry region that receives little
to no rain or vegetation.

There are so many awesome places to see in the Southwest!

I agree Joe! Places like the Grand Canyon, Monument
Valley, the Alamo, and the Navajo Reservation are in this region!

What is a reservation Sally?

A reservation is a portion of land that was set aside for

Sally did you know that the Southeast region is home to 14 states spreading from
Florida to Virginia? Did you know that there are many different climates
in the Southeast region? There are mountains, beaches, swamps, forests,
and fertile fields!

What is a climate Joe?

Climate is the average weather at a certain location on Earth.

There are so many cool things to see and do in the Southeast Joe!

Yeah! We can go to places like Disney World,
Stone Mountain, or the Great Smoky Mountains
National Park!

Hello Northeast! Sally, did you know
that the Northeast is made up of 11
states that stretch from Maine to Maryland?

Actually I did, Joe! The Northeast is the smallest region of the

Many people think that the Northeast is only big cities.
It would surprise people that there is actually a plethora
of farmland and mountains in the Northeast! A plethora
means there is an abundance or a lot of something.

You're right Joe! Places like the metropolis of NYC, the Appalachian
Mountains, the White House, and the New England Harbor!

A metropolis is a large, busy city!

Wonderful! I can't wait to meet some of the friendly, honest people the
Midwest is known for! Joe, did you know that the majority of the Midwest
region is flat, fertile farmland? The Midwest is also home to the Great Lakes!
