One super hot day, Emily was at practice but her mind was wondering offsomewhere else.
Her cell project was due tomorrow and she hasn't even started.

3
During her resting break, while she was sitting on the sideline bench when she heard something coming from the basket. She went to see and
wouldn't believe what she saw, a tennis ball waving at her.
She asks it," What are you doing here? Am i going crazy?"
The ball says,"Well hi there too, and i'm here to help you with your cell
analogy project."

4

The ball suddenly jumps out of the basket, Emily instinctively catching it.“Look start of with the barriers. What do the fences do?”
She looks at him dumbfounded still trying to process the
fact she was talking to a tennis ball.
It goes on “Get with the game kiddo, they're like the cell wall.
It further protects the court from balls coming in.”
5
She thought about it, and started to see the similarity and asks “What about the cell membrane?”
The ball points out on the court “What keeps the ball from being
in or out in a game”
“Well of course the line and line judges. They get the call.”

6
They continue looking out on the court and she responds “What about the nucleus? A lot of factors go into controlling
the ball.”
The ball looks at her, “Have you looked at yourself in the
mirror lately. You are key to the game. The player controls
the hits returns, serves and etc.”

7
“If the similarity is so alike, then what is the nuclearenvelope in tennis? Who is protecting me?”
“Well easy, who teaches all your skills? The person
guiding you to success?”
She ponders and says unsure “ohhh, Coach Garcia?”
“Bingo, you see how the nuclear envelope protects
the nucleus letting only certain components to the
nucleus. Coaches tell and guide the player to success.”

8
She then ask “okay so ribosomes are exactly what are they?. What synthesizes protein in a cell in tennis.”
The ball looks at her in disbelief “Buddy you’re looking at him.
We’re the main object to
be moved around and there’s hundreds of us. That's a neck”
She chuckles.

9
“Okay so now I'm beginning to see the parallel between the two. I got the next one. In a cell the endoplasmic reticulum packages the
proteins. The endoplasmic reticulum is represented by the path of
the ball, since it is transporting the protein molecule. The path of the
ball also shows how the protein can be modified, since it may have a
spin on it.”
"Now you're getting the hang of things",the ball responds
