Diapers AreGone!

Once upon a time there was a lady who opened her own
childcare. The name of the daycare was Naomi’s Daycare
Center. In this center it was not like any other childcare. The
owner is a bear. Throughout this school we teach many different
races. We teach ducks, pandas, and frogs and lions. The
teacher’s names who taught the toddler class was Teacher Nay
and Teacher Cindy. They are qualified teachers who assist the
children in English, Chinese Classes and Napping. The other
main thing they help with is Potty training. No one lives in
Diapers forever.

Kids can be Potty trained as
early as two years old if they are
ready. If they are in daycare around
other children whom have already been
Potty trained they will progress
faster. I have an acronym for Potty.
P is for Pee. O is to sit on the
toilet. The two T’s is for take turns.
Y is for you can do it. Then you can
include the rules of Potty training.
The first rule is to have a teacher go
with you at school. The second one is a
routine and if a teacher ask you if you
need to go and you say “No,” you still
try. The third thing is to wipe. The
fourth one is to wash your hands with
soap and water and dry with one paper
towel and through it in the garbage.
Then you get a stamp or stickers from
the teacher for going to the toilet.
The next thing is how you know as a
teacher and a parent if your child is
ready to be Potty Trained. No age is
too young to be Potty trained.

There are many ways to tell if a child is ready for Potty training.
You would need to pay close attention to children wearing diapers.
First they see their friends on the Toilet and going to the bathroom
to explore. Secondly would be if they start taking off there diapers
throughout the school day. Thirdly they are more interested in going
Pee in the toilet. Then if they refuse you can use the bribery
approach of stamps or stickers as rewards.

I'm Ready!Well if the child is ready to start
Potty training and the Parent is not
ready it will not work. Well we
have these two children whom have
been slow in interest in Potty
training. One is Cindy the Duck and
the other one is Luis the Lion. They
both did not want to use the Potty.
They are afraid of the toilet. They
tell Teacher Nay and Teacher Cindy they
are afraid of the Noise from the
toilet and believe that the toilet will
eat them. So the teachers tried every
day to get Cindy and Luis to sit on the
toilet. Their classmates were teasing
them and saying “you are babies and
wear diapers.” Then Teacher Cindy tell
them that there are no babies in
toddler classroom. We only have big
girls and boys in this classroom.

Well Cindy and Luis were tired of being called babies so, they finally took
interest in Potty training. For them to overcome their fears of the eating toilet
seats and the noise of the toilet flushing. The children overcame the flushing
sounds. Each time it was time to change their diapers, the teacher would bring
them to the bathroom two by two and change one and let the other one
explore. One day Luis kept flushing the toilet and running away from the toilet
and covering his ears. The teacher then talked to him and let him know that it
was not okay to run in the bathroom because you might slip. He told teacher he
was still scared. So the teacher asked, “Him would you like to flush the toilet
and see what happens?” Then the teacher held Luis hand and told him to flush
the toilet? Luis then flushed the toilet and watched the water spin down the
toilet. He said Ok I am not scared anymore. So we asked if he was ready to go
pee on the toilet he said “No Thank You.
Well Cindy is a different story. She
was more afraid of the toilet than
Luis. She would kick and scream when
you had to change her diaper. She
would throw an absolute fit and
temper tantrum and always told the
teacher she was not wet. The teachers
encouraged her to explore the bathroom
to get used to hearing the flushing
sounds. But unlike her friends she had
a disability. This was a behavioral
child that did not like loud noise.
When teachers took her to change her
diaper in the bathroom, the teachers
came up with an anger ball to assist
her in the bathroom. Every time she
got scared she could use that ball and
squeeze it or even if it was too loud
with the flushing noise. She is super
sensitive with many noises. The first
one is the flushing of the toilet, the
second one is when the kids scream in
the classroom. If she did not have her
plush ball she would end up throwing a
chair or table towards the teachers.
She only got along with the director so
we would ask for help to assist us
with her very violent temper. Mom
never got the child assessed so we
suggested it would be a good idea and
just see what or even if she does have
a behavioral issues. Until she got
tested us as teachers will assist
students to the fullest as long as it
does not hurt us or another child.
