There once was a fish whose name was Fin Gill. He had a little sister named Rainbow, a mom whose
name was Dorathy, and a dad named Tom. The Gill’s were the first fish family to live on earth and
they could breathe on land and underwater, but they only knew they could breathe on land. The Gill’s
lived in ancient Greece by the ocean. It was the first day of school for Fin and Rainbow, they were
very nervous. “Have a good day my lovely kids” said Dorathy. “We hope we will” said Rainbow and
Fin at the same time. They were very nervous. Fin was wearing casual clothes. Rainbow was wearing
a fancy dress. She was a princess on the first day of school. Fin thought she looked ridiculous. They
were walking to school when all of a sudden a seagull stood in front of them.

“You look ridiculous” Said the seagull to Rainbow. “Who do you think you are?” asked Fin.
“Me? I am Sam” said the seagull. Fin was pretty mad even though he agreed with Sam,
Rainbow did look a bit ridiculous for the first day of school. “You don’t talk to my sister like
that. Leave her alone” said Fin. “Well if I can’t talk to your sister like that I guess I will have to
talk to you like that” said Sam. "Fin and Rainbow started running to school because they were
going to be late. I’m a bit scared” mumbled Rainbow. “Don’t be, I will take care of you” said
Fin with pride. “But don’t tell mom what just happened” whispered Fin. “Ok, I won’t”
whispered Rainbow.

Fin walked Rainbow to her class and then started walking to his class. On his way to class he
heard everybody talking about a new bully in town. He didn’t know who they were talking
about because nobody mentioned any names.
He walked into class and noticed that his friend Timmy the turtle was in his
class. “Hey Fin” shouted Timmy from the other side of the classroom. “Hey Timmy” shouted
Fin excitedly.“Welcome back kids” said the teacher. “My name is Ms. Sally.” The teacher
seemed nice to Fin. “The first thing I want to talk about is about this bully everybody is talking
about. Does anybody know his name?” asked Ms. Sally. “Sam” shouted Timmy. Timmy was
as loud as an alarm. When Fin heard that Sam was the bully everybody was talking about, he
immediately got scared. He asked himself “what did I just get myself into?”

“If this ‘Sam’ says anything mean to any of you, please tell a teacher or an adult you trust in and
can help you” said Ms. Sally. Fin started looking around the classroom. The classroom was full
of pictures of the ocean. It was a classroom with bright colors everywhere. The day went on,
and all they did in Fin’s class was introduce themselves and share what they did over vacation.
Fin sure couldn’t get Sam out of his head. He always thought about what he would do if Sam
said something again. He thought about telling someone about what happened that morning but
decided not say anything. The school day ended and he waited for Rainbow. “Remember don’t
say anything about this morning to anyone” said Fin. On their way home they saw Sam again.
“You guys don’t even have feet” said Sam. The fish would walk on their tails back then. As
usual Fin wouldn’t say anything and would just walk away. Their parents asked them how
school went and they said everybody was friendly and that was school was fun. The days
passed and Sam was an everyday problem.

Fin couldn't’t take it anymore and he told Timmy what was happening. “Why don’t you just
move?” asked Timmy. “Where do I go?” asked Fin. “The Ocean” suggested Timmy. “I can
take you after school if you like” said Timmy. “Sounds good to me” thought Fin. The day ended
and Fin, Rainbow, and Timmy went to the ocean. Fin and Rainbow had no clue what to do in
the ocean. “Come on” said Timmy. “We don’t know what to do” said Fin. “Just get in the
water and move your fins and follow me” said Timmy. The explanation that Timmy gave them
wasn't’t helpful. Rainbow and Fin just started doing what Timmy would do. “Wait” shouted
Rainbow.

“How are we breathing under water?” she asked. “I don’t know” said
Fin. “Not everyone can do that, maybe you are one of those who
have the ability to breathe under water” said Timmy. They didn't’t
stay much under the ocean because Timmy couldn't’t be in the water
to long.

Rainbow and Fin loved the ocean. Everybody was nice and friendly. They went
back home and told their parents about the Sam problem. Mr. and Mrs. Gill
couldn’t believe what they were hearing. “Why didn't’t you say anything when it
first started?” asked Mr. Gill. “Because we didn't’t think it was going to be a huge
problem” said Fin.

Rainbow told them about how beautiful under the ocean was and
how they figured out that they were one of the animals that could
breathe under water. Mr. and Mrs. Gill thought about moving to the
ocean overnight and made the decision to move. The Gill’s had a
wonderful life under the ocean and had a very big family in the
ocean. Timmy would come to visit once in a while. They lived in the
ocean forever and lost the ability to breathe on land. Now, fishes
can’t breathe on land and that is why fish live in the water.
