After school one day, a little boy named Johnny
came home and asked his dad,"How are all
living things classified?" His dad replied, "Well,
Son, let me explain."

One day, in the land where the six kingdoms
ruled the world, there lived a man named Poon.
He was a very adventurous man, so he decided
to travel to all of the six kingdoms. The six
kingdoms were used to classify all living
animals. He packed his bags and headed on his
way.

After a long troublesome journey, he reached
the Kingdom of Plantea. Here, he met with their
leader, Supa Plant. Supa Plant told me all about
his kingdom. "The plants that live in my
kingdom are autotrophic. This means we make
our own food. We also breathe in carbon
dioxide, and turn it into oxygen for all animals
to breathe. There are about three-hundred
thousand different species of plants in my
kingdom," said Supa Plant.

Soon after, he arrived in the Fungi Kingdom. Here,
he met Shrum, the President of the Fungi Kingdom.
As they explored the Kingdom, Shrum told Poon all
about Fungi. He said,"Mushrooms, mold and
mildew are types of fungi. They are visible without
a microscope. All fungi work as decomposers, to
break down dead, organic material, and turn it back
into nutrients. Most of the fungi, in my kingdom,
digests its food by using microscopic threads, called
hyphae."

After hitching a ride from one of the animals, Poon
arrived in the kingdom of the Archea. Here, he met
the ugly Blob. The Blob had to meet Poon outside his
normal habitat, because Archea live in the most
extreme places in the world. "We are thought to be
some of the oldest forms of bacteria," Blob said. "Our
diet is mostly made up of methanol and acetate.
Some of the archeabacteria, in our kingdom, can
stand up to 190 degrees fahrenheit," continued Blob.
"Thanks for stopping by and helping to teach others
about us. Scientists don't know much about our
kingdom."

Next, he met Immune in the Kingdom of Eubacteria. Poon
learned that Eubacteria are a relative of the
Archeabacteria, he had previously met. After Poon and
Immune started talking, Immune said randomly, "Did you
know, that on average, most human bodies carry about 4
pounds of bacteria inside it? And, bacteria are so small
that the average human, has more bacteria in his or her
mouth than there are people in the world." As they kept
talking, Poon learned that the "smell of rain" is caused by a
species of bacteria, called Actinomycetes. Also, he learned
that bacteria are found everywhere humans go. Bacteria
can also cause many different diseases, like influenza and
pneumonia. After learning this disturbing fact, Poon fled
quickly and quietly, before he got sick, too.
