“Take it back… I don’t want to see this and your face”…
Ameer shouted at the poor maid, who tried to make him happy with new recipes. But Ameer didn't
like.
What happened my son?? Ameer’s mother entered in the dining room and asked.
"Mom… you know I can’t eat eggs every day, even after that u asked Ramla to make me an
omelet!! When people in this house will understand? It would be better if I was born in some other
and better family. At least they would feed me better food."
He left the dining room, and shut the room door so hard that Ramla thought that the door would
come out of its fixtures…
Ameer was the only son of Mr. Ahsan and Mrs. Xamira Ahsan. After having three children, who
were born and died with complications… Ameer was the only one who could survive. Mr. Ahsan, who
was one of the well-known business tycoons in the country, had given him whatever Ameer ever
asked for….
But… it was not only father’s love that spoiled him…
Mr. Ahsan’s father… Mr. Sultan had given him the name Ameer, which means a Prince.
Mrs. Xamira Ahsan, came from a
family of scholars, she, herself was
offered to come to different seminars,
from renowned academies to honor the
new graduates. She was religious, yet
modern in every way.
Mr. Ahsan had given her a good life,
and after Ameer was born, she held her
position in house much stronger. she
often told Ameer to be thankful to Lord
for whatever they have.
But due to fact the couple being so
rich, they had a huge social circle that
used to make them leave Ameer alone
at home, and either attend or host
parties. Ameer had only seen them
from his room's window.
When Ameer grew up, he started
calling his friends too.
Mr. Ahsan used to spend so much that
was not even necessary. Now Ameer,
at the age of 14, wanted his own
sports car and drive it, without
license. it was his dream to become a
car racer. Which his father, didn’t
accept at first place. He had kept a
condition, that he would buy him a
black Nissan GTR, with carbon fiber
finish, deep red leather, hand stitched
interior and xenon lights, either if he
let Siddique drive it or keep the car in
the garage until he get the driver's
license.
But Ameer wanted to have a cool ride,
which he could take to the school, feel
the speed and enjoy the sound, which
according to him was a sound like a
roar of lion.
Now days Mr. Ahsan was busy with
some of his trips and couldn't talk to
Ameer about it.

Ameer was so stubborn that he decided not to eat anything at home. So he threw the omelet and
shouted at poor Ramla.
Ramla was the only maid who was allowed to serve, cook for Ameer and enter in his room. She has
been very patient with Ameer and his choice of meals. Ameer used to eat the food only what Ramla
cooked. He loved her food most of the times, but the day he wouldn't like, he would go out and eat.
Ramla was sent to a number of cooking classes, to improve and learn how to cook continental
dishes too. Rest of the servants were not even allowed to talk or look at him. Except for Ramla’s
husband named, Siddique.
“Tell Siddique to take me out” ... Ameer again ordered Ramla… Ramla was still in shock, and her
hands were shivering, staring and thinking what she should do first… listen to Mrs. Xamira who
ordered her to clean up the mess before her friends arrive or call Siddique.
“What are you looking at?”… “Ramla can’t you hear me”… Ameer shouted.
"yes sir I do"… Ramla replied
Today Ramla seemed sad, but Ameer didn't care, nor other people in the house.
Siddique was not only a driver, but
also he was the only person who used
to listen to Ameer. Ameer’s whole
day’s story, what Ameer thinks, what
Ameer wants in life, what Ameer
wants to become, how he wants Mr.
Ahsan and Mrs. Xamira to be with
him, how many siblings he wants and
other secrets of his life. He used to
call him with his name, “SIDDIQUE”
which means a friend. Siddique also
used to tell him his childhood stories
and Ameer used to listen to it with
keen interest.
"take me to cafe"... Ameer said in a
firm voice
"yes sir..." Siddique said.
But when Ameer sat in the car and he
felt the same nervousness in his voice
too.
Ameer didn't take much notice, he just
wanted have his favorite bacon, with
grilled halloumi cheese, grilled
tomatoes, spinach topped with cream
and butter. Also his cup of hot
chocolate with loads of froth on top of
it.
“Do you want to eat?” Ameer asked
Siddique while rushing to get out of
the car…
“No sir “… Siddique replied.
It was an amazing cafe, with wooden interior, warm lights, light music and smell… not of anything
but freshly baked muffins ordered on the table, just beside him. IPads with updated magazines,
newspapers and WI-FI. Ameer placed his order, gave 1000 bucks in the waiter’s hand and winked.
So that he could make it super-fast for him.
The breakfast was served. Ameer had all what he wanted, he felt good… but still dreaming for his
new GTR…
“No way Siddique will drive it??!!” he told himself.
On the way to home Ameer asked Siddique about his first car he drove? Siddique replied it with a
name, which Ameer had never heard of….
Siddique saw Ameer’s confused face and said…. “It was a small car”… Siddique said.
“Was it your dream car?”…. Ameer still had confusion about the name.
“Sir… we cannot afford to dream about a car”…. Siddique smiled.
“Why you can’t dream Siddique? It’s for free”… Ameer smiled a bit
"We were poor sir, that my father
didn't have new pair of slippers, he
used to mend by himself, and his
clothes had patches of different
materials... I was the only child, he
sent me to school. Never used to eat
the day we had enough food for one
person. My father and mother used to
sleep in the afternoon, and at night we
used to eat with the lamp off, and
they used to make sounds like they are
chewing the food".Siddique had tears in
his eyes, for the first time, Ameer
saw him so sad.
"My father used to tell me stories and
encouraged me to have dreams, he told
me, dreams come true… but now today
I don’t believe him. My dream was to
be with him, take care of him… but
he is now in the hospital… may be
taking his last breaths. He seems
lifeless."
Ameer stayed quite. Suddenly Ameer
realized that they reached the entrance
gate. Ameer told Siddique not to enter,
and take him for a drive.
Ameer knew that Siddique was poor,
but the way he saw Siddique, it made
him disturbed.
"Is he going to die? "Ameer asked.
"Dr.’s say so… if we couldn't’t get
enough money to put him on ventilator
and start his treatment… he may… "
Siddique got silent.
“So why don’t you pay them and ease
yourself. He won’t die and your life
will be easy. “Ameer asked.
“Where I will bring the money from?” Siddique said.
“Ask my Dad…. “Ameer said
“Sir, we work, we don’t beg”… Siddique said.
“I can ask him and he will give me as much as I want..., we don’t have to tell him anything”…
Ameer gave an idea.
“No sir, I have never asked for favor from a mankind and will never ask… Me and my wife work
hard and never asked for money from anyone” Siddique said
“Please don’t intend to do anything that will hurt my ego.” Siddique warned.
“Hmm… let’s go and see your father”… Ameer made some change in plans.
Now? Siddique surprisingly asked.
“Yes now… it’s my order?” Ameer looked at him and smiled
Siddique didn’t say anything and drove towards the hospital.
They went to the hospital, it was a
government hospital, and he saw people
in a condition of which he never
imagined. Ameer thought he should
have stayed in the car.
“General ward, second floor”….
Siddique told the lift man.
Siddique seemed very upset, so Ameer
told Siddique that he would wait for
him outside and left from the lift.
Ameer luckily found a bench, just
beside a neem tree to sit. Suddenly a
boy, aged 2 yrs. or less came and stood
behind him, Ameer didn’t bother to
look at the boy and continued playing
his game on his new iPhone. Just a
couple of seconds later he felt some
liquid near his shoes. He saw the kid
urinated just behind his bench, under
that tree. Ameer could see his shoe
suede shoes getting wet and smelly.
Ameer got shocked, got up from that
bench, but couldn't react, the way he
used to.people around him started to
laugh... the kid's mother came and
apologized.
He never thought that would happen
ever in his life, and didn’t know how
to react at that point. He didn’t know
where to go, so he wiped his shoes on
the mat, placed outside the entrance
door of the hospital, and tried to look
for Siddique on the second floor.
Ameer saw Siddique sitting near a bed
and whispering something in an old
man's ear, who was sleeping with
mouth open,barely breathing and with
the oxygen mask on. The nurse saw
Siddique and asked him to take his
father somewhere else. The hospital
wouldn't take responsibility of the
person who is unattended and dying. But
before he leave, he had to pay all the
bills. And the rest of the details he
would get from administration
office.
Siddique seemed so helpless. Siddique
told the nurse he would come in
sometime.
