Pisa, Italy-9:00 am
My business has not been the same since rumors of a
terrible sickness has spread across Italy. My butcher
shop has been very slow lately. Ships coming from the
Ligurion Sea have not been delivering as usual.
Pisa, the town I live in, is just outside of Florence.
Florence is a major city that most of my customers
come from. My apprentice travels there with my horse
and wagon to pick up supplies. Our city is small. The
only business we have are a general store, and a
bakery. My wife helps me run the butcher shop.
I hope nobody that I know get ill.

My butcher store: 11:30 am
My business has been very quiet the past few days.
The only things I have noticed is off in the distance I
hear what sounds like cannons going off. Not sure
what that means.
Traffic up and down the streets has also slowed down.
People are not out walking around and those who own
horses and not riding. I noticed that the general store
down the road was closed. Very odd. They never shut
down. Some house have also boarded up their
windows. I have tried to remain as normal as possible.

I'm freaking out! My apprentice has been ill for the past few days.
His symptoms are headache, fever, and swelling around his arm
pits. He even has black marks on his joints that look like olives.
The crazy thing about him is that a few days ago he was fine. He
told me that he went into Florence to visit his parents and pick up
some beef and now he is sick.
The wind has really picked up. I get a whiff of a strange smell
coming from the east. Not sure what it is. I did see a strange man
walking the streets wearing a weird costume. Sort of looks like a
bird. Really odd.

Apprentices house: 5:00 pm
I has been 2 days since my employee has gotten sick. He is
swollen, sore, and his skin is turning black in a few areas. Since
he lives by himself, I am the one taking care of him. He won't eat
or drink. I've tried to get a hold of the doctor but he won't come.
People in the town are boarding up their widows. The only people
I see are strangers from the hills. They have their horses pulling
a wagon with bodies in them. Why their are risking their own
safety is beyond me?
My apprentice has also began to smell. He almost smells like
rotten meat that has sat in the hot sun for a while. I heard from
the farmer down the road to pack his swollen body parts in mud.
I am willing to try anything at this point. He stinks!
