Sarah Says NoBy: Callie and Ella

Sarah and Alex were walking to school
on an early Friday morning holding
pumpkins. The pumpkins were for a
carving contest being held at school
during lunch. It was Halloween!

Happy Halloween!

At lunch when they had the carving
contest, Alex and Sarah carved an
emoji and their friend Veronica carved
an owl. When the judges came around
they looked at Alex and Sarah's
pumpkin. They won and made
Alex and Sarah pumpkin carving
king and queen.

Come to my party!

After the carving contest, their friend
Veronica walked up to them.
"I'm having a party tonight and y'all
should come." Veronica said
''Okay, We'll ask our parents!"
Sarah replied.

Can we go to a party?

Yes only if you are back by 12

Once Sarah and Alex got home they
asked their parents if they could go to
the party.
"You can only go if you are back before
midnight," Sarah's mom said harshly.
"Thank you so much!" Alex exclaimed.

Sarah and Alex were walking to
Veronica's when they saw a D.A.R.E.
poster.
"Look! I learned about this in school
last year! It's pretty cool." Said Sarah

"The 6 Refusal Techniques to Avoid
Drug Use:
1. Ask questions. 2. Name the trouble.
3. State the consequence. 4. Suggest an
alternative. 5. Take off. 6. JUST SAY
NO!" Sarah read.

"Cool!" Alex said as they continued their
walk to Veronica's.
When they got got there, they didn't see
what they expected.

"What are they doing?" Alex whispered
to Sarah.
"I think they are drinking alcohol."
Sarah replied.

Glad you guys could make it!

Veronica walked up to Alex and Sarah.
"Glad you guys could make it!" She
said in an unusual voice.

I think we need to leave.

"I think we may need to leave." Sarah
suggested.
"Let's just see if they're doing anthing
bad inside." Alex said.
"Okay." Sarah returned in an uncertain
voice.
