Born August 14, 1953 in Osborn, Kansas.
Daughter of Melva and Leroy Cronk.
Had a younger sister, Sandy and baby brother,
Douglas.

Her father was not around
much, he was in the military
and traveled around, taking his
family with him.
She moved from town to town,
having to go to several different
grade schools. First stationed in
Colorado and then Panama for
a little over a year.
He was very strict and mean,
the opposite of her mother who
was a stay at home mom.

Every single day, stores
closed at 5 or 5:30.
Shopping was done on
Saturdays, on Sundays
everything was closed
down strictly to allow
families to spend time
together and go to
church.
Every Sunday, her whole
family would go to their
grandmas house to have
dinner and spend time
together.

She was in 5th grade when JFK was shot.
All schools sent everyone home. She
remembers it being very scary, all of her
teachers were crying and rushing. Everyone
walked home, with their mothers waiting, it
was much safer then it is now.

During school, girls were not
allowed to wear any sort of
pants, only dresses. Many girls
had short hair.
Every Friday night, when she
was in 8th grade, her and her
friends would go to the skating
rink. During this year, she
began smoking, taking after
her parents and has never
broke the habit.

During high school, she met her first husband. Very soon
after she graduated, she got married at age 17. She also
had her first daughter a few weeks before she turned 18.
She did not go to college afterwards, vocational school was
big then. She worked at Tony's for 2 years in 1973
throughout high school and then worked at Phillips for 29
continuous years after graduation.

She ended up having 2 more
children by the age of 25.
My mom, Jamie, at age 22
and my aunt, Kelly, at age
24.
Her greatest joy is having us
grandchildren. Me, my
cousins Olivia and Gavin, and
my 2 younger sisters, Abby
and Avery. She never had the
help of her mother when she
got pregnant, she has always
been there for my mom and
aunt Rachelle, her first child.

The hardest thing she
has ever experienced
was loosing both of
her parents, my great
grandparents, 11 days
apart last October.
The whole family
struggled for weeks,
and we still do.

62 years together
11 days apart

Her advice for teens today:
Slow down and enjoy every moment. Every
choice you make will impact your life in some
way.
Something she would of changed:
She wished that she would of slowed down
and enjoyed high school while it lasted, she
never realized how fast times flies.

Greatest moment:
She has had many many
great moments in her
lifetime. From her having
all 3 of her daughters to
all 5 of her grandchildren
being born. She hopes to
have more moments like
that in the future.
