Diary of a Cub

Monday
Today I was minding my own buissiness. Same oldscedule: wake up, wash my paws, and eat breakfast. Clomp
Clomp Clomp! It was a stampede of bulls! I quickly ran away.
I ran until my paws ached and I was lost. "Howdy fella!" said
a voice. I turned around, a lion about 6 feet tall was walking
towards me. "Looks like you are lost." he said cheerfully,
"Welcome to Lion Acadamey!". He led me into a little hut.
"My name is Director Jeff." he said, "What's your name?".
I mumbled "Leo.". "Well for a little cub like you, Leo, I think

you should go to den 3." he said. "Wait!" I asked, "How am I supposed to live in a group life?. "Well, we eat together, hunt
together, and live together." he said. Together, that made my
guts twist. The den were arranged in the shape of a lion. I went
inside and checked it. There were a lot of grass beds. I saw my
bed and sat down. After a nice meal of deer, I went back to den
3.

Tuesday
Today was the first day of catch the first day of catch the buffalo. I just learned that in groups the females hunt.
Director Jeff said that the boys can be a lookout for the females.
We spit up into 2 teams, the green team and the yellow team.
I was the 2nd lookout for the green team. The goal of the game
is to hunt as many buffalo's as you can get. "Rooooaaaar!"
roared Director Jeff. "On your mark get set gooo!". The females
charged ahead. After a few minutes I spotted a herd of buffalo.
I warned the females and they charged to get them. I guess I
made a pretty big racket because the next thing you know, the
other team went charging for them. After a few minutes Director

Jeff roared."Teams bring your game in!". He counted the dead buffalo. "Green team, you win!" he roared. Our team
cheered. Hunting in a group was much easier than hunting
alone. We brought the buffalo to the dinner huts and ate.
After dinner I went back to good old den 3.

Wednesday
Today was run away from the Komodo Dragon day. Director Jeff and a few staff members bought 3 Komodo Dragons from Dragon Store in
the nearby town. I nearly fainted when I saw it but Director Jeff said
the Komodo Dragons were tamed. The staff members put the Dragons
into cages. Director Jeff roared "Cubs, on your mark get set ruuun!". I
quickly ran away, but I got trapped in the group. They decided to split
up. I decided to hide. I hid in the jungle until Director Jeff called us to \
come back. I slowly came out of the jungle. When I saw the Komodo
Dragons were already in the cage I wasn't scared. When all the cubs
came back the Komodo Dragons glared. "Good, all of you had a good
tactic." said Director Jeff. "Let's go to the dinner huts.". After a nice
7

meal of buffalo and deer, I went back to den 3 to sleep.

Thursday
Today was infection day (I wonder how Director Jeff directs things).Director Jeff and the staff members brought out the infection robots. I
almost fainted again. Director Jeff said Lion Acadamy had the best
hospital run by Doctor Sally. The robot started moving and puffing out
chicken pox fog. "Cubs, get set gooo!" said Director Jeff. We ran
and hided. At the first few minutes only 3 cubs were infected (out
of the 204 cubs at Lion Acadamey). My tactic was to hide and run,
but after a hour I gave up. The robot was right behind me! I ran and
ran until my paws were aching, but the robot was to fast! It was the
scariest time of my life. When I was a solitary cub infection was so
easy. "Rooooaaar!" roared Director Jeff. All the cubs gathered
