The life of
my grandparents

My grandparents were both born in Ottawa KS.
Donna Mundy aka Grandma was born in
1945 and my Grandpa aka Rick Mundy was
born in 1948.

This is my
grandma with her
dad and siblings as
a baby.

My grandpa
had his first job
at 16 he went
and did
construction
with his cousin.
My grandma
was 15 when
she got her
first job as a
waitress.

My Grandpa was in
the Vietnam war he
served for 2 years
but was in boot
camp for 4. He was
happy to be able to
serve for his
country

I asked what was
the best year of
your life and my
grandpa told me
1969 because that
was th first year
that he had ever
been to wood stock
and it was a great
time he said that he
wouldn't elaborate

My grandma told
me that she has
had many good
years in her life
and it was to
complicated to
chose one year
that was the best
she said maybe
the year she was
born.

My grandparents both
said that they had
sneaked out when they
were younger my
grandpa got caught by
his principle one time
and he ended up
fallowing him home.
Grandma told me that
she ran away one time
but she thinks it was
only for 3 hours.

I asked if you could bring something back from
your past what would it be my grandma said he
mother, she wishes she could have spent more
time with her than she did she misses her. My
grandpa said he would bring back his cousin
that was his best friend who passed away while
they were in Vietnam.

My grandpa told me a
moment he wishes
that he could relive is
spending time with
his mother, she was a
sweet woman he said.
My grandma wishes
she could relive
playing on the farm
as a child with her
sisters.

Their advice to teenagers is to study hard pick a
degree that you will enjoy, life has alot of ups and
downs but there is nothing else like it. My grandpa
would also like to see everyone do 2 years of
military service not during war.

I asked what was
there biggest
regret is, and
they told me
making stupid
choices when
they were
younger and not
listening to there
parents. Having a
low self esteem
making life
harder.

My grandpa said his proudest moment was
graduating boot camp and also having kids, but
my grandma said hers was starting to have grand
kids.
(especially one, me)

I asked my grandparents who
played the most significant
role in your life, and my
grandma told me a teacher
that she had in high school.
She helped her get through
school and gave her a present
once, but also her mom, and
her grandma she had patients
and also taught her alot of life
values. My grandpa said it was
his mom, she always looked at
the bright side of things and
seemed so happy when you
knew it was hard for her.

My grandparents
met when my
grandpa got out of
the service he
came into a bar
my grandma
worked at then
they later started
dating they dated
for 4 years and
then got married
they have been
married for 41
years this year.
