The Cold War began in 1947 and ended in 1941. This was a 

war between the U.S.S.R and the Unites States of America 

and was a war of government ideologies, it was a war and a 

race to see who's ideology will be more dominant,  

Communism of the U.S.S.R or Democracy of the U.S.A. This 

war also included a nuclear arms race, Proxy wars, and 

different ideas of government. 

The conflict began in 1947 directly 

after WWII when Joseph Stalin 

(U.S.S.R president) took the eastern 

half of Berlin and turned its 

government into a path of indirect 

Communism, and that was the first 

step towards Stalin's plan of applying 

Communism to the rest of the world. 

Stalin then applied his ideology in 

China,   north Vietnam, Cuba and north 

Korea. 

On the other side of the spectrum we 

see the U.S.A and their governmental 

ideology of democracy. The first man 

to step up to Stalin and oppose him 

was president Harry S. Truman of the  

U.S.A.; the U.S.A controlled the 

western half of berlin along with 

France and Britain, they had the idea of 

spreading democracy which then made 

the U.S.A get involved in the southern 

sides of Vietnam and Korea.    

The U.S.A and the Soviet Union were in 

a race to see whom could develop more 

nuclear weapons and that created the 

horrific idea of another world war. 

These nuclear weapons also were taken 

into space where they were used to 

threaten multiple countries whom 

wouldn't co-operate with either side! 

These weapons in space made space 

militarized and weaponized, which 

made the idea of a war in space 

possible, and that was another part of 

The Cold War. lastly the U.S.S.R put 

some of its missiles in Cuba to 

threaten the U.S.A.
