2
I was the luckiest kid I have ever known. As best friends live in a lot of places,
Mine lived in my very own home.
3

4
Ed and I played from sun up to sun down,We would play every kind of game.
If we played King, Ed liked the crown,
A day with anyone else was just not the same.
5

6
I told Ed he could sleep in my bed with me,But he said that just would not do.
He suggested a better idea might be,
to sleep behind the mirror, reflective and new.
7

8
Ed said that father would not like us playing,But Ed liked me and I liked Ed.
So we made a hiding plan to ensure Ed’s staying,
We would defy father instead.
9
CRICKCREAKCREAK

10
It worked out easily you see,We could hear father come home CREAK CRICK CREAK,
So Ed would look at me and I’d look at he,
And behind the mirror he’d go, Ed’s Hide and Seek.
11

12
The next day was a hungry one,Even after lunch was made and served.
The battle with hunger had not been won,
And Ed knew that was not deserved.
He quickly slipped into the kitchen,
Opened the cupboards, and looked about,
Seeming as if he was given a mission,
And knew his job without doubt.
13

CREAKCRICKCREAK

14
He took one cookie from father’s special jar, Then we hear the CREAK CRICK CREAK.
Ed goes to the mirror, I keep father on the radar,
And another successful Ed’s Hide and Seek.
15

16
It was days until the next close call.We were playing tag with Ed being it,
Ed didn't like being it at all,
With his tag soon turning into his hit.
I was sent right into father’s study table,
Knocking papers and pens left and right,
Trying to reach out and keep the tower stable,
But one paper laid just out of sight.
17

CREAKCRICKCREAK

?18
It came so fast, CREAK CRICK CREAK,Father was at the door before we could speak,
Ed managed to cover, good ol' Ed’s Hide and Seek,
With father’s curiosity reaching its peak.
19

20
Ed said that father just forgot how to play.He said it is work and the other adult's fault,
They made him this grumpy way.
He had become a boring meal, and needed some salt.
21

22
Ed had another genius plan,We would get rid of father's stress.
We would put his work through the fan,
And easily clean up the mess.
