One day a puppy named Ella was 

playing in the woods right, by the lovely 

log cabin that her family owned. At least 

she was until her best friend Maroo the 

moose walked up and said "How 

about we head down to the lake for a 

nice, long drink of cold water? What do 

you say?" "Well..." said Ella "I guess I 

could come but I have to be back by 

noon. "Gotcha." cried Maroo and they 

were off to the pond.

When they got to the lake, which some 

believed it was more of a sea Maroo began to 

play in the sand. "MAROO!!!" Cried Ella. "All we 

are getting is a drink, remember?" "Yes. Right 

the drink." But, when they got to Maroo's 

favorite fishing spot Maroo stopped dead in his 

tracks. "I don't remember a family of bears 

living in our favorite spot of the beach." 

Thought Ella. Maroo seemed to be thinking the 

exact same thing because he marched right 

over to the bears and roared in his biggest, 

mightiest voice "GET AWAY FROM MY PART OF 

THIS LAKE!!!!" The bears stared then, began 

to laugh.

"I did not know we were picking sides because 

I could have challenged you so, long back." 

Said the bear in a small voice. At least it 

seemed small for a mighty bear like him. But, 

then Ella peered around Maroo's big hooves 

and saw a small scab on the bears foot. It 

looked like a stingray sting. The bear saw Ella 

and picked her up though before she had a 

chance to try to bite the bears foot and knock 

him off balance. "And who might this be? Your 

minion because that's the only thing that this 

tiny monster would be good for!!" The bear

laughed in a mighty roar. "Quit!" Said a 

tiny voice from behind. In only seconds a 

tiny cub shot like a bullet over to were 

her dad stood. "No one hurts anyone!" 

She said to her father who was about to 

beat the poor pup.
