Once upon a time there were Ancient River Valley 

Civilizations. The people that settled there were the first 

and it started a Neolithic Revolution. It changed the 

way people lived. Merchants became popular and were 

needed, because of all of the production made during the 

revolution. Many things were invented. The calendar was 

a very helpful invention. It helped predict when the floods 

would come. Hieroglyphics were invented by the 

Egyptian. It was their form of writing. The Ancient River 

Valley Civilizations changed the way we lived today.  

What if people had not learned how to farm?

We would not have the economy we would have 

today if they did not learn how to farm. We learned 

from them, and started a living off of that. That is 

how we grow our food, and that is how they grew 

their food. We would rely more on the sea for food, 

rather than the crops.  

Medieval Europe was known as the Dark Ages.  

They followed Codes of Chivalry. They had 

crusades from time to time, which helped spread 

religion around Europe. The black plague hurt 

Europe and killed many many people.

What if the Black Plague did not attack Western 

Europe?

If the Black Plague did not attack Western Europe, 

half of the population would not have died. Also, the 

economy and trading would not have gone down and 

people would have been able to keep their 

businesses and live happily ever after. 

The Renaissance went through a reformation. The 

influence's it had were over literature, art, 

philosophy, religion, politics, and science. People 

during the period wanted individualism. They also 

believed in secularism. The Gutenberg's 

Printing Press helped spread ideas across Europe. 

It was how they got word across to each other. 

What if Gutenberg hadn't invented the printing 

press?

Ideas wouldn't have spread across Europe. We 

wouldn't have the technology we have today. The 

typewriter Gutenberg invented sparked the 

inventions the computers we have. The people in 

Europe wouldn't of had communication with each 

other. 

Asia is known for building the silk road, but 

its not actually made out of silk. The road is 

7000 miles long and goes across Asia. The 

Mongols are the ones who opened the road. 

In an African village, the Bantu people 

migrated to the southern part of Africa 

because of the amazing climate, It was one of 

the largest expansions around the world.

What if the Mongols had not opened the Silk 

Road to safe travels? 

If the Mongols had not opened the Silk Road, 

then they would not have had a system of 

trade until later. 

The Greeks were one of the first groups of 

people who created democracy. They believed 

in many Gods, and Alexander the Great was 

the main one. The Hellenic Period was the 

end of the Classical Age of Greece. The 

Romans created the Latin language. The 

Roman Empire fell, but there is no specific 

reason as to why it fell. 

The Enlightenment Era was a time of success. 

People who were in the movement were called 

philosophers. Two main philosophers were 

Thomas Hobbes and John Locke. The 

Industrial Revolution was a great time for the 

USA. There were many inventions made, and 

new technology was created. 

What if the Industrial Revolution had begun in 

Germany or Russia?

If the Industrial Revolution had begun in 

Germany or Russia, we might not have the 

technology we have today. They would have 

better inventions and more money than us. 

The inventions would have gotten to us.
