It is the first day of school at Village Prep. Rose Bloom is getting ready for school.

She is very excited and hopes to make lots of new friends.

Rose says goodbye to Blossom, her pet unicorn and heads to school.

Though Rose is excited, she is nervous.

Her mother tries to cheer her up.

Rose and her mother, Mrs. Bloom goes into the office and asks for Rose's class. Rose will be in class 129. Rose likes Ms. Snow and is glad that Ms. Snow will be her teacher. Rose says goodbye to her mother and walks into her classroom.

She goes in and scans the room. She sees Billy the Bully, Jack, Ava, and her friend Nancy. Rose says to herself that this school year is going to be bad. The only thing Rose likes about her class is the teacher and her friend Nancy.

The first few periods flew by quickly and before Rose knew it, it was recess. Recess is Rose's nightmare. Rose always brings a book with her to recess to read under some bushes. She sits down with Nancy and starts reading. When they were halfway through the book, they hear Ava screaming "HELP!" Rose and Nancy notice Billy bullying her.

The next day, Rose went to school and Ms. Snow said "Good Morning Rose. If you see Billy bullying someone during recess, please tell me." "Sure" said Rose in a low voice looking at Billy.

At recess, Rose and Nancy went back to the bushes to read their books when Billy and Jack walked over to them and said, "Hey nerds." Rose and Nancy tried to get away, but Billy and Jack were blocking them from leaving. "Go away," said Rose.

That made Billy and Jack mad, so Billy and Jack started pushing Rose and Nancy. Rose and Nancy screamed HELP! HELP! Ms. Snow HELP! Ms. Snow came out helping Rose and Nancy. Ms. Snow gave Jack and Billy both extra homework. Billy got mad and gave Rose a scary look.

When Rose went home, she didn't say a word, not even to Blossom. She went in her room and started doing her homework while thinking about how her day at school will be like tomorrow. Rose decided to talk to her parents about it at dinner.
