Taylor was going camping in the snowy mountains like she normally did on the weekends. She had set up her tent and started her campfire and was about to roast marshmallows when she realized she had forgotten them! So she called her mom and asked her to bring some. Taylor’s mom showed up in a panic because she said she saw something like a shadow of a horse reflected on the moon!

She said “I’ve seen it before but this time it I thought I heard a noise too! It shows up during a full moon! I called Detective Peterson and he said, 'I’ll be right there Mrs. Sharlet!'” So they waited there for the Detective.

As the Detective was driving it was a full moon. He said,” I better watch out!”. Just then Detective Peterson saw a horse show up on a snowy cliff facing the highway. Even from there he could see its eyes sparkle. He had never seen that before. He wondered what that meant.

Detective Peterson arrived at the campsite when Mrs. Sharlet left. Taylor was still there. Detective Peterson asked where Mrs. Sharlet was, Taylor said “she left.” Detective Peterson said “okay.”

Detective Peterson warmed himself by the fire while Taylor made him a hot cocoa and they started planning. He told Taylor what he saw at the highway. Taylor was shocked, she didn’t know what to say but she knew it was a BAD sign! That horse must be up to something.

They decided to get into Detective Peterson's car and to go to the place where he saw the horse. Taylor was frightened! She had never been included in something like this before! When they got to the cliff, Detective Peterson pulled the car to a stop.

The horse was still there! They got out of the car. Detective Peterson got the binoculars out of the car. When he turned around to look, the horse was gone! Detective Peterson was really determined to catch the horse, so the case would be closed, and he could get some sleep! He and Taylor returned to the car to continue looking for the horse.
