Layers

Layer by layer I opened it up. It was the best present ever. It was Christmas morning. My mom handed me one of my presents it was from her on the tag it said “Here Joyah Thank you mama.” The box had white snowflakes and glitter on it.

I opened the first layer of paper. It was another wrapped box! That went on for like 10 minutes. Opening that box I felt like I was going in slow motion After about 16 layers the wrapping paper changed. That’s when I knew that I was almost to my actual present. However, there were like at least 20 more layers.

Finally, I got to the last box. My present was wrapped in tissue paper. My jaw dropped open! I was jumping up and down with excitement."Yay!I love it so much mama!" "I knew you would!" my mom said as she was video taping me! “Thank you so much!" I managed to say out of excitement. It was the BEST present EVER.I was so ecstatic I got an...IPhone 5s!!

favorite things

Hi! My name is Joyah. I'm almost 10 so I’m 9.I go to Estes McDoniel Elementary school. I was born in Hawaii I lived there for 7 years. I’ve lived in Las Vegas for 3 years. Let me tell you some of my favorite things!

First, I love reading. This year we are doing a 40 book challenge. Where you have to read 40 books by the end of the year, I’ve read 3 already! My favorite book is called dork diaries #3.In my opinion the books are better than the movies! That’s why I love books.

Next, I love gymnastics! I took 7 classes a week last year, some were 2 a day! That got to stressful so we narrowed it down to 1 class a week. I have a very bendy back I can do one trick where you are in a handstand and bending your legs and back touching your feet to your head.Also, I can do some really cool tricks, one is when I flip over on my chest on the floor and put my feet over my head touching the floor. Now you can see that I love gymnastics!

Last, I love doing crafts! I love painting which is part of crafts. Also I love decorating things with glitter, and rhinestones. I love home-made things as presents to make for other people, I love making jewelry boxes for presents for other people. Crafts is my favorite hobby. Now you see why I love reading, gymnastics, and crafts.

Mayor

Have you ever wondered what it's like to be Mayor of Henderson? I have. The mayor has to make speeches, attend important meetings, and fix laws. I have many ideas how I would change Henderson.

To begin with, I think we should have more homeless shelters, because no one should be treated differently even if they don't have a home. They can eat and sleep there. It will be in downtown Las Vegas. The council members will help. I would buy land and build; I would do it as soon as possible. That's one reason I think is really important.

Next, I think we should add more dog parks. I think so because it is important they can get lots of exercise and work-out. It will have a food and water station and dog beds for them to lie down. We will have fun activities for the dogs like races and obstacle courses and it will be fun for them! I love animals and think they need a place too and that will be that place.

Finally, I would enforce recycling. I would enforce it because it is a very important cause. Also , because sea animals die because of all the trash going into the ocean. I would start a go green team to pick up all the trash from everywhere, the group would be called" go green stay clean. “They would help clean up Henderson. This is a very, very important cause, so go green and keep your city clean.

Now you know what I think is important and what I would change and why. I think all of these are very important, and I hope you think they are important too!

Dreams

Do you want to travel as a job? If so you might want to be a flight attendant. I'm responsible, efficient, smart, and fast on my feet. My mom is who inspires me because she believes in me. I would like to be a flight attendant, because I can travel the world, learn new languages, and at the same time work! I would be in the hospitality and tourism cluster.

I will attend Rio Salado Collage in Tempe, Arizona. I will be in the certificates program and earn my associates degree and I will get my bachelor’s degree in collage. I will try to get some experience in collage; I will work in the simpler business like fast food worker or babysitter. I will try to get a scholarship and if I do not get a scholarship I will work and save up for collage. The tuition is $1,854 per month. I will work in high school and in collage and save up for collage.

I want to see the world and learn new languages. I will serve drinks and food. Clean seats for the other people boarding. Finally, I will confirm to the pilot when we are ready for take off. I assume flight attendants will still be there in the future. I hope you have learned something and want to be a flight attendant now.
