The Industrial Revolution did change the world. It was the first step in modern economic growth and development. This combined with the superior military technology made Europe and the United States very powerful in the 18 and 19th century. It caused many people to move from the country to urban areas to find better opportunities, as well as jobs in the booming industry. This brought the movement of people to cities and availability of greater variety of material goods, which allowed new ways of doing business. The changes brought by the industrial revolution overturned traditional economies as well as whole societies. We would not be where we are today if it wasn't for the industrial revolution.
