Why Attack?

The attack took place because Japan wanted to expand there Empire- An extensive group of states or countries under a single supreme authority, formerly especially an emperor or empress. But to do that, they needed more land. So, they needed natural materials such as oil, rubber and other natural gases. Only one problem stood in there way, they didn't have these materials so they asked the U.S.A. to use/borrow these materials. But, President Theodore Roosevelt had other ideas. "If you use these material's, China will want to do the

same." "And I don't China immagrents"- A person who comes or goes to a different country. This is why the U.S.A. rejected the idea, and why the Japanese wanted revenge on the U.S.A.

The Attack

"The Attack Of Pearl Harbor took place December 7th in 1941 at 7:50 A.m." Says Pearl Harbor Survivor Ray Garland. Also the attack ended at about 10:00 A.M. The attack came in two waves, the first and the second wave. The reason the Japanese decided to attack in two waves because the Japanese needed to fuel up there planes or submarines. -A warship with a stream lined hull designed to operate completely submerged in the sea for long periods of time. Often has or uses torpedoes and/or missiles. Pearl Harbor survivor Ray Garland has "been on the U.S.A. Tennessee Navy ship for about two

weeks". Says Ray, " It was a Sunday morning, me and y buddy's were goanna head up to town, Intel the loud speaker game on." "Men abort your battle stations this is no drill, I repeat abort your"-"Then after that there was explosions". You see, Ray was an eye wittnes- Some one who witness or sees something happen.

After The Attack

The Attack of Pearl Harbor was devistating. The Japanese, got mostly what they wanted. "The Japanese, has sunken or damaged All U.S.A. Navy ships, and have killed or wounded hundreds of soldiers, and cittizens." Worst yet, this act to do or behave a certain way, has caused the "U.S.A. to enter World War 2." Every year on December 7th, at 7:53 A.m. citizens and soilders, visit Pearl Harbor and toss flowers into the waters of Pearl Harbor. To remember the "The Attack Of Pearl Harbor.
