Description of Activity: Students will be introduce to the story "Wheels on the Bus". In a group of four, students will créate a felt board and felt figurines that represent each character in the story.

Yes. It allows children to participare at their own level of understanding. In addition, students will be able to socialize and interact with their peers. Another aspect that makes this activity appropriate is that it allows children to interact with the story "hands on".

I selected this activity because it will provide students the necessary tools to use their artistic skills, develop language, and apply their comprehension skills. Students learn best by being involved and this activity will specifically lend itself to this.
Why did you decide on this activity?

In will allow students to participate in a fun, creative, and entertaining way. I also selected this activity because it will foster children's critical thinking skills by encouraging them to respond to questions, and to analyze and decode the sequence of the story by using the felt figurines they will créate.

How did you introduce it?
During story time students will sit in the middle of the classroom while I read the story "wheels on the Bus" aloud. I will then divide the students into groups of four. Children will then seat at the tables and be provided with art materials such as felt, carburad, markers, glue, velcro, and adhesive tape.

How did you introduce it?
They will be instructed to créate different characters of the story. I will provide the school bus, which I have made and a felt board so they can do a retelling of the story.

How did you facilitate learning?
Learning was facilitated by scaffolding the students and carefully modeling the different steps in this activity. This is partícularly true when they créate their figurines. I will have my own product already finished, so that they can see how they finished product is supposed to look. In addition, tapping to prior knowledge it will enhance their ability to understand the activity.

By pairing them in groups, learners will have opportunities to share and process new ideas and information.
