Out in the field a Young horse named Toby and his friend a
young mule that answered to the name Buford, were
grazing on grass.

Buford had been admiring Toby as he moved so gracefully .
Toby Was so muscled up and he had such a beautiful flaxen
mane and tale. He was a good-looking horse. Buford on the
other hand had long ears, his tale was not as long and
pretty as Toby's and he was not even close to being as
muscled up as Toby was. That cowboy Hayden was always
riding Toby and that kept him in good shape.
taking toby somewhere to rope and rodeo so that is part of
the reason he was in such good shape.

Toby and Buford got along real well because, after all they were
almost born on the same day. They had been together for over four
years now out in this beautiful pasture. It just seemed as though
everybody liked Toby better and he got all the attention. The only
attention I get is when I get hollowered at when I don't move fast
enough.

The next day was Friday. That afternoon here come that cowboy
.Hayden in his truck and trailer. As soon as Toby heard that truck
coming he went running. He knew he would be loaded up for a road
trip. I thought I would try my luck and run on over too. But nope! That
Hayden shut that gate as soon as I got there. He ask, Where do you
think your going Buford?

Millie the cow Mooed, Buford you didn't really think you were
going off with that cowboy did you? He is not going to ride you
with those long ears. HeeHee she said laughing. He might rope
one of those ears instead of the steer. Millie, Buford said, mind
your own business...I did not want to go anyway. Why would I
want to chase an ole steer for that cowboy?

Buford put his head down and went back to gazing for he knew
that Toby and Hayden would be gone a couple of days at a
Rodeo. Well, the next day here come farmer Craig,.he was in a
chipper mood. He hollered, come on, Buford lets eat some
grain. When you get done I have a very important job for you.
Toby earns his keep rodeoing for Hayden and now it is time for
you to have a job too.

you eat and I will be back with your surprise in a minute. It was not long
and here Mr. Craig came with a very large wagon. Buford, I got a new job.
It is a very important job too, You and I are going to deliver milk a couple
times a week to the family's with children in our community. The children
are going to fall in love with you.

Away we went. I loved my new job. I felt so important. the
kids came running out to get their milk. And guess what? Oh,
Yeah, they brought me treats when I bring them milk. I get
apples, carrots, and sugar cubes. They just love all over me. I
feel so important now that I have a job to do.Toby you have
always been the special one. Now I feel special too.

Well that night I was out in the field feeling a little full. I could
hear that cowboy's truck coming home. I did not even run to
greet Toby. He and Millie the cow came moosing over to me.
What's up with you Buford? You don't even act like you missed
me? I really didn't have time Toby. Oh.? said Toby. Millie
mooed in, He has a knew job pulling Mr. Craig's new wagon
and delivering my milk to the neighborhood family's.

I guess you didn't have time to miss your old friend. No it's not
that Buford said. But you see Toby, for along time I have had
my feelings hurt thinking nobody loved me because I was not
as handsome as you. Nobody wanted to take me in anywhere.
But now I have an important job. Millie mooed , Yeah and if it
wasn't for me and my milk you would not have that job.
So okay Millie You are important too..We all
are.

The moral of this story is we all are not just alike but we all have
something important to do in life and when you find out what your job
is ...Do a good job at gett'en it done!
