"She's so annoying! I wish I didn't have a sister, someone can take her away."
I speak with anger, she won't leave me alone and she always gets in the way.
2
I see my grandfather sitting in his chair reading the newspaper. His eyes reached mine and he takes of his glasses off and tells me to sit down with wisdom running through his voice.
3
"Now listen here boy, you're very lucky to have a sister. When I was your age I thought the same about your great auntie until my grandfather told me of what happened to his sister back when Europeans took her away from his family."
4
"I would love it if someone took her away, she's so mean and mum and dad always believe her before me!" I say once again with anger seen in my eyes.
5
"Let me tell you the story and maybe you'll change your mind." He says and I get myself comfortable while rolling my eyes, here comes another long story from grandfather.
6
Once upon a time, your great, great grandfather; Warrin and his sister Undava. Had a beautiful village. They would sit around the fire and tell stories of their elders past and present and why we live the way we do today.
7
One day these strange looking men with pale, fare skin invaded the village and took over the land, families were not so beautiful anymore as the invaders tore them apart, diseases and death rates raised as the health of the village was poor. Your great, great grandfather's family managed to get away from the white men, until they were found sleeping under the great veteran tree-
8
"Wait what's a veteran tree?" I asked confused.
"Veteran means old or special, so it was the villages special tree. Now can I finish the story?"
"Yes" I said with annoyance.
