It was May's first day at North high school. She had no idea what she was getting into. May walked up the steps, nearing the door. She let out a sigh. May was going to be the schools second transfer student that year. She had to move due to her mother's death and her father's change in jobs. She was engulfed in a sudden sadness and she reached out and touched the handles of the two doors. She was going to be going to the school where her mother and father met. She laughed at her sadness and sighed for the second time. "Oh, come on May." she told herself. "get over it." and with those words, she entered the school.

"Hey, Kyon!" Haruhi Suzumiya, a girl with a big mouth and a bigger personality, yelled. "I heard that a new transfer student is coming here again! Don't you think that's strange?" she yelled. "What would be so strange about that?" an irritated looking guy, Kyon, said. "Well-" Haruhi started, but the bell cut her off. "Hello,class, and good morning. Today we have a new transfer student, May Haram." the teacher announced. "See, see? I told you!" Haruhi whispered loudly into Kyon's ear. "Yeah I never said I doubted you." Kyon whispered back. "May, why don't you take a seat over there, behind miss Suzumiya." the teacher said. "O-ok." May stuttered in reply, earning a few snickers and looks here and there. She took a seat behind Haruhi.

Haruhi spun around to see May. "Hey! from now on you can call me Haruhi! Meet me here at 12:00." She insisted, handing over a flier "I don't think that's how you are supposed to recruit new members." Kyon said from in front of Haruhi. "Well to bad!" Haruhi said in response. "U-um ok, I'll go..." May said quietly. "Great! we'll see you around noon!" Haruhi declared. "So, May, talking already I see." The teacher unhappily said from behind his desk. "Uhhh.." May was at a loss for words, and at this point, she hoped her newly "befriended" Haruhi would come to her rescue, but Haruhi did nothing. "It's rude not to respond to people, May, but since this is your first day, I'll give you a pass." the teacher said. May sighed in relief. the rest of class was uninteresting and bland. Then the bell rang signaling that it was time for lunch. May went to eat.

12:30. It was 12:30. May had completely forgotten about meeting Haruhi and Kyon and- Who knows who else! And May forgot. "Crap, crap, crap, crap, crap! I totally forgot" May yelled standing up. She ran to the place on the flier. May burst through the door, out of breath. "Sorry (huff) I'm-" she started. "Late! I can't believe it!" Haruhi cut her off, the once happy energetic girl was now filled with spastic anger. "I gave you one job, not a very hard one if that, and you show up late!" Haruhi's anger grew. "Haruhi chill out, I'm sure she just forgot." The guy named Kyon came to her rescue. "Yeah I did, I'm sorry! I promise never to do it again!" May yelled. Someone chuckled in the background. May hadn't noticed the presence of anyone else in the room. "Alright," Haruhi said, still slightly angry. "I suppose since you're a part of this club now, you'll have to meet everyone." Haruhi said. "Hello, my name is Mikuru Asahina. nice to meet you!" a sweet girl with auburn hair said.

"Y-you too..." May responded. "I'm Yuki Nagato." a short girl with short, light purple hair said. "And I'm Itsuki Koizumi, how are you?" a happy looking male with a nice hairstyle said. "I'm good, thanks," May replied coldly. She didn't really like him that much. She didn't have a reason, though. "Well, now that we have that out of the way,-" Haruhi started "Hey wait! what about me? Anyways, My name is Kyon. " Kyon interrupted. "Okay." May said. "Alright, let's get started." Haruhi stated "Wait! Why am I even her in the first place?" May asked "Oh! To be in our club, the S.O.S brigade! I'm the leader." Haruhi answered. "Um, that's great and all, but would you mind telling me what we do in this club?" May asked again. "That's easy! We look for aliens, espers and time travelers!" Haruhi again answered. Kyon silently facepalmed himself. "Ummm, Ok... I'll join!" May decided. She stood up stand looked around the room a little bit.

She saw that Mikuru girl in a maid's outfit and decided not to question it. She sat down next to Mikuru as Haruhi explained what they were going to be doing that day. They were going to go somewhere in the city to see if there were any strange things taking place. "So where are we going?" Mikuru asked sweetly. "To the train station!" Haruhi replied. May began to think that Haruhi was a little too excited because all that they were technically doing was going to a train station to look for things that didn't exist. Once they arrived, they began the search. Haruhi was running all over the place as May tried to keep up. Kyon, Yuki, Mikuru, and Itsuki pulled May aside and sat her down next to them. "Alright, I know this is going to sound crazy, and you don't have to believe us when we tell you either." Itsuki started. "W-what?" May stuttered. "The three of them aren't human- well two of them used to be, but not anymore." Kyon said.
