One day Amelia woke up and got ready for school. She was so excited because her mom was taking her on a trip to the grocery store. This was a rare thing.

When Amelia got to school her friends in her class noticed that she was very happy and excited about something. So they asked her, “Amelia why are you so happy?”

Amelia with a big BOOM on the desk responded, “When school is over I get to go to the grocery store with my mom.”

When the school day was over Amelia waited outside the school for her mom to come pick her up.

When her mom got there she took off running to the car and CRASH she went into the side of the car. She couldn’t even get the door open because she was so excited. A little while later they arrived at the grocery store.

Once Amelia and her mom started walking around the grocery store Amelia started to notice a bunch of shapes that she learned about in school just last week.

The first shape that Amelia noticed was a friendly circle but her mom did not notice anything. So she sang the song that she sings at school in her head. She began to sing, “This shapes name is a cir-cle and a circle has no sides.”

As they moved to the next isle the circle jumped into the shopping chart. The next isle that Amelia went down didn’t have any shapes, at least that Amelia could see. She was very sad that she couldn’t find any friendly shapes, so she began to worry.

"I have to go catch the friendly shape", Amelia said to herself....

Then as Amelia was walking to the next isle with her mom she noticed a friendly shape on the other side of the store. So Amelia began to run towards the shape.

Where are you going Amelia???

“Where are you going,” yelled Amelia’s mom. “I have to go find more shapes,” Amelia yelled back. Her mom was so confused but she followed her to the other end of the store.
