"Okay silent reading time is over turn and discuss what you read with your group ", Mrs. Jane announced. As the group discussed what they had just read David dreamed about what he could be eating at the moment. David was so hungry he could taste the food was dreaming about.

"Okay guys group discussion time is over, time to put the books up and go outside for recess", Mrs. Jane said while holding the door open. Twenty-five minutes till lunch David thought, he didn't think he could wait that long. As David put his book back he accidentally knocked over a shelf of books and had to stay a little while to put them back, now he would be the last out to recess.

As David was making his way to the door to go out to recess he passed by Mrs. Jane's desk and saw a big box of chocolates. David had never seen so much chocolate in one box. Once again David felt his stomach growl. He loved chocolates, they were his favorite candy but David knew they weren't his and it would be wrong to take something that wasn't his without permission.

David started to walk away but once again his stomach growled, louder this time. There is so much chocolate in there David thought, It won't hurt to take just one and Mrs. Jane probably wouldn't notice. With that in mind David went to the box of chocolates and took one, then another, and another and before he knew it more than half the box was empty and David didn't know what to do.

David decided to take the rest of the box and hide it in his backpack so Mrs. Jane wouldn't see it. David went to the restroom to go clean up and went out to recess to go play with his friends for the remainder of the time. As the class walked into the classroom after lunch they were greeted with a confused teacher. Mrs. Jane spent all of lunch searching high and low for the box of chocolate her husband had custom made for her birthday.

When the kids returned from lunch they were confused. Once they were all sitting Kevin raised his hand and asked the question they were all thinking. "Mrs. Jane, what are you doing?" "Umm", Mrs. Jane replied, "have any of you happen to see a box of chocolates?" David's heart began to race. "I know I put them here but I can't seem to find them." "We'll help you look", Jenny said. For ten minutes they all searched the whole classroom until Robert yelled out "I found them!" David felt as if his heart had stop. "They were in David's backpack."
