Air is a mixture of different kinds of gases that covers the Earth in a layer over 400 miles high.

A Blizzard is a big winter storm. It brings cold temperatures, it is very windy, and has a lot of blowing snow.

A cloud is water in the atmosphere (air) that we can see. It is where rain and snow comes from.

Dew happens when the ground is cold. The warm air around the ground comes in contact with the cold ground.

When puddles start to leave after it has rained and slowly disappear it is called evaporation. Evaporation happens when water is heated up by the sun. The water turns into vapor - tiny droplets of water which float on the air

Fog is a cloud on the ground. fog makes it diffacult to see what is in front of you.

Many places that were warmer are not getting colder, and many colder region are getting much more colder or even warmer.

Hail

Hail is a mixture of liquid and frozen rain. Hailstones are big balls of ice that come from the clouds. They can range anywhere from a golf ball to a softball.

Ice is frozen water. When the weather gets colder than 32 F then the rain freezes. Ice can be very slippery when on the roads. 

A jet stream is a strong high wind found in the atmosphere of the earth. The wind can reach speeds of 200 miles per an hour!

Kelvin is a system scientist use to measure temperature. Kelvin is the most used sytem used around the world.

Lightening is a big bright flash of electricity during a thunderstorm. when tiny rain drops in the cloud bump into each other it makes electricity.

Meteorology is the study of the atmosphere including the weather and the forecast. The weather man on T.V. is a meteorologist.

A Nimbus cloud is also known as a rain cloud. The numbus cloud is usually lower to the ground and dark gray.

Ozone is the layer above earth that is gas. The ozone is made from oxygen. The ozon protects the earth from the suns rays.

Precipitation is another word for any water form that falls from the sky. precipitation includes; rain, drizzle, hail, snow and sleet.
