My grandpa was born in a little town called Longford Kansas. He was born to Marjorie and David Sr. At the time he was born not many were being born in hospitals. My grandpa was born at his house. He has two sisters, Romona Bohls and Mary Ellen Mize.

My grandpas very first memory is, after he moved to Salina his parents gave him a little tricycle. He does not remember why, all he remembers is that little trike.
3
His dad was a farmer just West of Salina and he also worked for the Gooch Feed Mill which no longer exists in Salina. His mom was a certified nurse at Asbury-Salina Regional which is now just Salina Regional. His family was not rich and they were not poor. My grandpa said they never went without but they also did not have exactly everything. They were more of the middle class.

As a teen, he and his childhood friend Gary Beck played sports together for fun like football and basketball. They also would go down Santa Fe and start drag racing the other cars there.

5
His first car he bought by himself for three hundred and fifty dollars, was a two door 1947 Mercury Sedan which he later sold to get a 1950 Ford Mustang.

6
His first loves name was Elaine, she was a girl he had met from church and they hung out a bit before her family moved away.
7
The biggest impact on his life was going to church with his family. As he got older he started taking friends with him and after they would all go get a coke. Church allowed him to be around the right people and he enjoyed seeing the effect that church made in some people.

8
He went into the army for two years but never had to fight in combat. He enjoyed it because he made some life long friends and every two years he looks forward to seeing them at the reunion.
9
His dad told him if he ever wanted to go anywhere in life that you had to work for it and make a goal. He told him to settle down and make a family "if your ever going to amount to hell beans". He lived by that advice and started working from 13 until he retired.

10
One day at church my grandpa met my grandma and they just hit it off. Now they have been married together for 49 years.
11
For most of his life he worked as a driver for Exline. He loved it because he got to see sights all over the country and could travel.

12
The biggest joy in his life was adopting my dad, He said there was not a single bad thing about raising my dad. He loved taking him to the circus and playing sports with my dad, then when he got older, he watched him play sports.
