Birth Place and Story
Mikkie, birth name Gladys later legally changed, was born in Garden City Kansas. While her mother was in the hospital having her. Her dad got into a bad accident heading to the hospital. It was supposed to be fatal but he was fine.

Life as a Kid
As a kid Mikkie used to play walk the barrel, a game that required a big barrel. She also played games like Jacks and Shooter. Shooter required marbles and a circle boundary. To win the player must shoot marbles out of the boundary and the player who hits the most marbles out and collects the most wins the game. She later in life teaches her grand kids to play the game.

Cloths and Slang Terms
When she was a teen Spaghetti strap dresses and peddle pusher pants were popular but she doesn't remember any slang terms.

Teenage Special Memory
She was rebellious as a teenager and spent dates at the movies and playing miniature golf. She did attend church with the family. The memories that stick out most to her as a teen are her brothers giving her a hard time.

School Life as a Teen
Mikkie went to school in Dodge City Kansas and her school was very standard. She struggled with math and English and ended up dropping out as a Sophomore. She wasn't very popular either and this was due to her coming from a poor family and poor meant you weren't popular. She did hang out with some friends though.

First Love
Her first love was named Richard Allen Harris and she liked him because he was tall, dark, and handsome. She also liked him because why not.

First Car
Mikkie didn't have a car until living in Sho Low with her husband. She shared a GMC Pick Up Truck. Her husband drove it to work and back and after he got home the truck was hers. Her special memory about the truck is sometimes she'd go drag race with her brother who had a Chevy Pick Up and they both got a ticket for it.

First Job and Favorite Job
As her first job Mikkie was a car hop waitress. Her favorite job out of all the ones she had through out her life is being a real estate appraiser. She started the job back in 1982 and is still one now.

Heros/Rolemodels from Younger Years
She had many movie stars she looked up to but Doris Day, a singer and actress, seems to stick out from the others. She also liked Rock Hudson growing up.

Family Origins
She doesn't know much about her family origins but she does know her dad was part Indian and came from a reservation somewhere in Oklahoma. All she knows about her mom's side is they came from Ulysses Kansas and continue to live around there.

Brothers and Sisters
Mikkie has four brothers and three sisters, one has passed away. Her siblings are David, Nathan, identical twins Don and Darrell, Nancy, Glenda, and Mary. Nancy passed away due to cancer. Mikkie was the oldest girl and next to the oldest of kin. Due to this she had a lot of responsibility caring for her siblings and didn't have much freedom.

Parents
Mikkie's parents are Marie and Noble Drigger. Her mom was a stay at home mom that took care of the kids and cleaned a lot and due to being poor her dad was always working.

President Kennedy's Assassination
She was in Dodge city at the doctor getting ready to have her first baby soon, so she didn't watch it on TV or hear about until after. When she did find out she was overwhelmed.

Martin Luther King's Assassination
She also doesn't remember much of Martin Luther King's Assassination due to raising her kids but she does remember there was a lot of unrest.

The Moon Landing
She doesn't remember much of the moon landing and didn't watch it. She was more concerned about raising her family than watching people land on the moon.

9/11 Twin Towers Fall
When 9/11 happened Mikkie was in the Salina or Abilene area and watched it happen on her TV. During the event she felt overwhelmed and even shock and even just remembering the experience brings back those feelings.
