Long ago, in a set of woods far, far away, there once was a little puppy named duke lying in the middle of the woods. One bright and sunny morning, little Duke rolled over and found himself in the woods, surrounded by stumps, briars, and trees. Duke was a very confused puppy, he had no idea where he was or how he got there, all he knew was he was lost…..

Here is his story…
All my life, I've grown up in the city, My family and I lived in one of those big brown boxes. I'm pretty sure my family had lived there for a while, at least thats what I can remember. My parents use to always tell us bed time stories about life in the country, it sounded nice, but I liked where I was. Honestly, life was going pretty great; mom always took care of us, dad always provided food, and me and my siblings always played from sun up to sun down!

I really liked living in the city, I thought it was kind of cool, but I am not sure if my parents did. They always told us pups that if anything ever happened to us, to run towards the woods as fast as we would, even if we possibly wouldn't run anymore, run until we reached an open green field, where you could see the ends of the earth, and infinite daffodils. I often day dreamed of a places away from the city, but I never intended on leaving New York. I was a happy camper, well that was until I woke up here. Now I am all alone and no, I am not in a beautiful place like I have imagined.

"This is not an open green field, where you could see the ends of the earth, and infinite daffodils."

I am still not exactly sure how I woke up here. I remember going to bed one night, cuddled in all nice and tight. Then suddenly, we all received a terrible wake up call. The sun wasn’t out, most the stars were hidden, it cold, and wet, but this mean human didn’t care, he wanted my family out of his brown box. Next thing I know, out home was turned the over with us in it, and this big scary man started yelling a bunch of nonsense. Truthfully, I don’t have the slightest idea what he was saying, I just heard my momma yelling…

“Run kids, run as fast as you can, even if you can’t run anymore, until you reach an open green field where you can see the ends of the earth, and infinite daffodils”.

So thats what I began to do. I ran and ran until my little legs couldn’t run anymore. For the longest time, my siblings were behind me. But after a while, I lost my brother and sisters, we were all running so fast, everything that was going became a blur.
And now I am here, I have no family, no friends, and absolutely no idea where I am.

This isn't an open green field. I can't see the ends of the earth or infinite daffodils.
MOMMA, WHERE ARE YOU?
GUYS IS THIS A JOKE….

& between me and you, I am not a fan of being lost in the woods. Hey, maybe some of my siblings are around here,
Nope not under that rock, or behind the tree. "Hey, guys where are you? Uhm, no one is even responding!"
"Yikes this isn't good"
Well, I guess I am on my own, says Duke, "time to be a man".
First, I need to find some food to eat and some company to play with, those are most important, right?
12

are ya back here?
or maybe behind here?

Hey, maybe this stick will taste good, and these berries, and these leaves, and maybe even a worm or two.
I passed by a raccoon, but he smelled bad, I found a porcupine, but he was lazy, and I tried to make friends with a snake, but he wouldn't even play tag.
My first day alone was pretty bad. I am still hungry and lonely.

Wanna be friends?
Ugh, I need my dad. I am hungry.
