Hi, I'm Lira. I can not believe that my mum is letting me go to POYKAQ, which is a fancy school for princesses and princes to learn how to be proper Kings and Queens. The schools looks magnificent! I am just so excited. On the other hand. My younger brother, Jack, is mortified about the idea of leaving his friends. My mum says, "You'll make new friends," but Jack doesn't like that idea. So he just wails and wails. You'd probably think that it would be annoying, but it doesn't ruin my delighted mood.

My mum made a quick feast for us. I had a piece of bread and a muffin. Jack had tomato soup. Since Jack wasn't hungry, he fed his soup to our cat, Stormy, when mum wasn't looking. When mum saw Jack's empty bowl, she said, "Wow, for a boy who doesn't want to go to school, you're sure hungry!" Jack grinned, weirdly. I wolfed down my breakfast, and grabbed my picnic basket. I said, "I believe we are ready to go!" So off we went.

On our trip to the school, we saw a mother and two girls. They looked like they were arguing. Uh oh, I thought, they must be at my new school, since they have crowns! Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Jack shake his head. Mum didn't seem to notice, though. I heard the mother say, "Come on young ladies." She clearly was annoyed. But i will repeat this, nothing will ruin my happy/excited mood. Nothing.

I looked around, and I was in amazement. A King and Queen stood staring at the students. When I saw some other princesses, I said to Jack, "I'm going to meet some princesses. You can try to make some new friends." Jack nodded. The princesses were fairly nice, except for one who kept teasing me about my braids. I saw a girl. She looked concerned, so I walked over to her. said, " New, huh?" The girl nodded. I said, "I'm new, too. What's the name?" She quietly said, "Amy," I replied, " Hi Amy, I'm Lira. Wanna be friends?" She nodded.
