Once upon a time... In a garden at the Manor House, there was a Princess named Cecily, watering her garden..

2
Miss Prism calls Cecily over to come learn her German. Cecily says "I think German makes me plain." "Uncle Jack only wants you to have the best education." Cecily laughs and says "Why must Uncle Jack be so serious?"

3
Cecily sat thinking and began to say aloud "I wish Earnest, Uncle Jack's brother would come visit." She began to open up her diary, and wrote in it. Miss Prism continued to talk about the importance of learning, and how she use to write books. Miss Prism tells Cecily to put the diary away, and start working on her things.

4
Miss Prism's eyes caught sight of the most dreamiest man she'd ever laid her eyes on, Dr. Chasuble. Cecily suggests she asks him to go on a walk. While they were easily distracted, Merriman the Butler tells Cecily that Mr. Earnest Worthing is here to see her.
5
Algernon who is disguised as Earnest, greets his "cousin" Cecily. Admiring her beauty he tries complimenting her every chance he can. They continue to talk for quiet a bit, getting out of Miss Prism's sight.

6
They got so wrapped up in talking about each other that before long Algernon discovered that his brother Jack was going to be sending him away to Australia.

7
Dr. Chasuble chimed in telling Jack that he would perform the funeral ceremony for Ernest. Jack then proceeds to ask if he could Christened. The time was arranged for after five o'clock.

8
Before Miss Prism could send out a search team, Uncle Jack arrives earlier than expected. He was dressed in all black, looking rather upset. "Why have you com back so early?" Miss Prism asked. "My dearest brother Earnest has died of serve chill."

9
Cecily comes in rather quick and happy to see her Uncle Jack. Cecily proceeded to say "Uncle Jack, your brother Earnest is waiting to see you in the dinning room."Jack looked at her confused looking down at his cremated remains of his brother, "Earnest? But he's dead."

10
"No," Cecily laughed. "He is in the garden waiting to see you. Come along!" Cecily turned around swiftly, leading everyone away to the dinning room.

11
When they arrive at the dinning room, Algernon is sitting patiently eating biscuits and sipping on tea. "Earnest?" Jack says stepping forward to his brother.

12
"Oh! Brother John, how I've missed you." Algernon stuck his hand out to shake his hand. Jack looked at his hand and refused to. Cecily jumps in making the situation less awkward. "Earnest has been telling me about his friend poor old friend, Mr. Bunbury."

13
Algernon shook his head in agreement with Cecily. His hand still out. "Uncle Jack are you refusing to shake your brothers hand?" Jack looked at his hand, "His coming down here is ungraceful and he knows why."

14
"Uncle Jack if you don't shake his hand I will never forgive you!" Cecily said stubbornly. "Never forgive me?" Jack said back mockingly. "Never, never, never!" Jack signed and said "Fine this is the last time."

15
Everyone cheered when they shook hands, and carried on with their business scattering off.

16
"Algy, you must get out of this place as soon as possible. I don't want any Bunburying in here," Jack walked off angrily.

17
Merriman the butler approaches Jack later in the day. "I have put Mr. Earnest things in the room beside you." Jack's face showed shock, "I beg your pardon?" Merriman proceeded to repeat himself, "I have put Mr. Earnest things in the room beside you, three portmanteaus, a dressing-case, hatboxes, and a large luncheon-basket."

18

Algernon chimed in and said "I'm afraid I can't stay longer than a week," looking over at Jack. Jack cleared his throat, "he has been called to town." Merriman looks away, and starts for the dog-cart.

19
Algernon and Jack walk into the house. " I think I should tell you I think I'm in love with Cecily, and that is a success," Algernon continues "I must see her before I go..." Jack says nothing walking away, but Cecily walks in.

20
"Oh! I thought you were Uncle Jack for a minute," Cecily said laughing. "No, he's gone to order me a dog-cart," Algernon said back sadly. "He's taking you out for a nice stroll?" Cecily looked confused. "No, my darling he's sending me away."

21
Merriman came in hesitantly looking at Algernon he said "Your dog-cart is at the door sir," Cecily butted in "It can wait Merriman.. For.. Five minutes." "Yes Miss." Merriman left the room.

22
Algernon began talking fast to tell Cecily how much he liked her "Cecily, ever since I first looked upon your wonderful and incomparable beauty, I have dared to love you wildly, passionately, devotedly, hopelessly," Cecily stood listening.

23
Merriman comes back in, " The dog-cart is waiting sir," Algernon looking annoyed said "Tell it to come around next week, at the same hour." Merriman looks at Cecily for a sign, but she said nothing"Yes, sir."

24
"You know Uncle Jack will be very annoyed if he knew you were staying longer." Cecily said. "Oh, I don't care about Jack. I don't care for anyone, but you. I love you, Cecily. You will marry me, won't you?"

25
"Of course! We've been engaged for the last three months." Cecily excitingly said. "Three months," Algernon was confused. "You proposed to me February 14, Valentine's Day, we broke it off. I forgave you before the week was out." Cecily said shrugging her shoulders.

26
"What a perfect angel you are, Cecily."They sat admiring each other, "You dear romantic."Then they kissed. ALgernon gazed at Cecily, "You'll never break off our engagement again, Cecily?"She sat thinking about his question, and then proceeded, "No, but I do have a question about your name."

27
Algernon got nervous and then proceeded to answer. "Yes?" Cecily sat up "You must not laugh at me, but it has been a dream to always love some one with the name of Earnest." Algernon sat up to "You mean if I had another name.. You would not love me?" "What name?" Algernon pretended to think, "Any name like.... Algernon?"

28
Cecily look disgusted "Algernon? I don't like it." They talked about the name for a while, and it came time for Algernon to leave. "I'll be back more than half an hour." Cecily signed, "Couldn't you make it twenty?" Algernon smiled, "I'll be back in no time," Cecily watched him run off, then thinking to herself I must enter his proposal in my diary!

29
Merriman come to find Cecily in the same spot at the garden. "A Miss Fairfax has called to see "Mr. Worthing, but he is not in his library he has gone." Cecily signed "Ask the lady to come here, please."
