Adsila lived in a small first nations camp in Kelowna. There was tepee's and long two’s for shelter. There was also a gigantic Longhouse that was decorated with beautiful first nations art. It was made out of the most valuable wood, called Bocote wood.

It was surrounded just by thousands and thousands of trees. Nothing but forest and one humongous lake for miles. The forest was very thick with nothing but an old cave, that everyone was told not to go into. They were told this because there had been legends that a spirit lives in the cave, and rules over nature.

Adsila was very adventurous and mischievous. Her father expected her to always behave, but she never listened. Her father was the chief so he expected more from his daughter. Other than known as the chief’s daughter, she was also known as that one misbehaving child that never listened. She was always an adventure seeker and wanted her father to join her, but he was always too busy.

On a beautiful dry morning, Adsila woke up early and decided to take a walk in the forest. She passed lots and lots of thick woods. She walked for a while then heard a great deal of yelps. She rushed to where the sound was coming from, but then she heard a human voice. She also heard laughing, so she hid behind a tree. When she peeked out from behind the tree she saw the best hunter from her tribe. Skinned wolfs were all around him. She felt like she was going to be sick. All of these innocent wolves killed, just for their fur.

Then she heard something saying, “ Hey Adsila, over here.” She looked up and down, and side to side, but then she noticed a little wolf pup. The pup looked like she was about one month old. Adsila was shocked that a wolf was speaking to her. “Who are you and why are you talking to me?”, said Adsila. “ My name is Grey. I know that you are forbidden to to go into the cave but you can trust me”. Adsila followed, but still being cautious. She entered a pitch black cave.

When she entered the cave, torches lit as she passed. The flames flickered like snakes hissing. She got to the end she came face to face with a big, strong, female wolf. The wolf was as big as a grizzly bear and was sitting on a big stone, with other wolves around her.Grey then went with the rest of her pack. The wolf sitting on the stone seemed friendly. Adsila approached her.
