What’s a Volcano? A volcano is a mountain or hill typically having a crater or vent at the top.
Through which lava and different rock fragments fly up into the air that get mixed with the following things.
Lots of hot vapor, and with gas that gets or has been forced from beneath the earth's crust up into the atmosphere.
Not all volcanoes erupt, some are dormant or not active.
All volcanoes are different some are very active and have erupted before.
2

Why are they called Volcanoes? The name "volcano" has its origin from the name of Vulcan, a god of fire in Roman mythology.
The Romans thought Vulcan was a blacksmith who made weapons for other gods using the fires that were from a island called "Vulcano.".
Romans living there believed that Vulcano was the chimney of the forge of Vulcan.
They thought all the hot lava fragments and clouds of dust coming from Vulcano came from Vulcan's forge as he beat out thunderbolts for Jupiter.
3
Why do Volcanoes form?Large cracks in the tectonic plates in the earth’s crust allows the magma to slide or push its way up into the atmosphere.
From movement in the tectonic plates, it creates those cracks.
Sometimes with deep oceans, it forms an underground volcano till it gets tall enough to reach out of the water.
It takes a very long time for the magma and lava to build up into enough of layers to create a taller volcano.

4
How do Volcanoes form?Volcanoes are formed when magma from within the Earth's upper mantle works its way to the surface.
The extremely high temperature and pressure cause the rock to melt and become liquid rock or magma.
At the cracks in the earth’s crust, it erupts to form lava flows and ash deposits.
Over time as the volcano continues to erupt, it will get bigger and bigger.

5
What are the parts of a Volcano? The main parts of a volcano are the crater, main vent, secondary vent, and magma chamber.
The crater is were lava pools at the top of a volcano.
The main vent is were pressure can be release without the volcano erupting.
The secondary vent does the same function it’s a little smaller.
The magma chamber is where an underground pool of melting hot liquid rock is stored.

6
What are the different types of volcanoes?Cinder Cone Volcano, Composite Volcano, Shield Volcano, and Lava Domes.
Cider cone volcanoes are one of the simplest types on our list.
Composite Volcanoes make up some of the world's most memorable mountains like Mount Rainier.
Shield Volcanoes are large, broad volcanoes that look like shields from above.
Lava Domes like Cider cones from how thick and short they are and are similar in a couple ways but they form differently.
