On a beautiful Saturday evening, there are four little kids playing together with a ball. Their names are Reese, Gage, Tommy, and Julie. Each child has special needs and they are best friends.
Reese tells her friends that she is tired. She goes home to take a bath and go to bed. Gage, Tommy, and Julie stay back to continue playing.

Reese is a beautiful child with Down syndrome. She has sleep apnea that makes it challenging to go to sleep. Sleep apnea is very common for children with Down syndrome.
Sleep apnea causes Reese to be very restless. It also causes her to snore and frequently wake up in the middle of night.
How can we help Reese sleep?

Reese can use a nasal mask when she goes to sleep. A nasal mask is a full face mask over nose or/and mouth with a machine that pumps air into Reese's airway to help her sleep and breathe much better at night.
The nasal mask will help Reese feel more confident, alert, and productive for the next day when Reese wakes up.

Gage, Tommy, and Julie have so much fun playing together. Gage is now tired and goes home to get ready for bed. He brings his dog Max with him.
Tommy and Julie stay back to continue playing with the ball.

Gage is a special child with a sleeping challenge. He has Epilepsy, which is a type of seizure. Gage has a very special list that he needs to follow in order to avoid any possible seizures in sleep. The list includes reading books, having soft music, or doing a few exercises before bed.
Although the list can be effective, Gage also needs something else to ensure his sleeping is safe and sound. What may it be?

Gage's dog Max is a trained seizure dog where he is able to alert Gage and his family when a seizure is about to occur and comfort Gage during a seizure at any time.
How will Max respond when a seizure occurs? He may bark to alert others and put his body between Gage and the floor to prevent any possible injuries to Gage's head and body.
Gage can sleep with comfort knowing Max is right next him every night.
