*1800 B.C., Abraham, and his family made there way to canaan.

The Jew's follow a scroll of book called the Torah. The 

Torah is the same thing as the Bible to the Christians. 

During a synagogue service, the Torah scroll is lifted, 

While the congregation declares: "This is the law which 

moses set before the children of Israel."The fallowing 

verse from the Torah makes clear Moses,s law regarding 

belief in one God.

The synagogue is the house of worship and of Jewish 

community life. services in the synagogue are usually 

conducted by a rabbi, the congregation,s spirirual leader. 

Many Jews make the pilgrimage to the Western Wall. The 

sacred structure, built in the second century B.C., formed 

the western wall of the courtyard of the Second Temple of 

Jerusalem. The Romans destroyed the temple in 70 A.D.

*63 B.C., Roman power spread to Judea, the home of the Jews.

*6 A.D., Rome took control of the jewish kingdom

*6 to 4 B.C., a Jew named Jesus was born in the town of Bethlehem in Judea.

*29 A.D.,   Jesus visited Jerusalem and Enthusiastic crowds greeted him as the Messiah.

*66 A.D., A band of Jews rebelled against Rome.

*70 A.D., The Romans stormed Jerusalem and destroyed the Temple complex.

*73 A.D., The Jewish fort near Masada held.

*132 A.D., Another half million Jews died in three years of fighting.

*312 A.D., The Roman emperor Constantine was fighting three rivals for leadership of rome.

*313 A.D., Constantine announced an end to the Persecution of Christians.

The Bible is the most sacred book of the Christian 

religion. It's Divided into two major parts: the Old 

Testament, which focuses on Jewish history, and the New 

testament, which describes the teachings of Jesus Christ.

There is also the 10 commandments 

I.I am the LORD your God, you shall have no other gods before me.

II.You shall not take the Name of the LORD your God in vain.

III.Keep holy the Sabbath day.

IV.Honor your father and your mother.

V.You shall not kill.

VI.You shall not commit adultery.

VII.You shall not steal.

VIII.You shall not bear false witness.

IX.You shall not covet your neighbor's wife.

X.You shall not covet your neighbor's goods.

Worshiping as a group is an important part of christian 

life. Most Protestant services include praying, singing, 

and a sermon. some services include baptism and 

communion, in which bread and wine are consumed in 

remembrance of Jesus' death.

Communion celebrates the last meal jesus took with his 

disciples.

*750 and 550 B.C.,Hindu teachers tried to interpret and explain the hidden meaning of the Vedic 

hymns.

All of these books are and texts are very holly 

to the Hindu nation. It tells them about there 

past and what they should believe. These are 

the equivalent of the books of the bible to 

Christians.

Each year, thousands of Hindus make a pilgrimage to 

indias Ganges River. The Ganges is considered a sacred 

site in the Hindu religion. Most Hindus come to bathe in 

the water, an act they believe will cleanse and purify 

them. The sick and disabled come in the belief that the 

holy water might cure their ailments.
