I dedicate this book to all children who have been picked on. Don't let it go any further. Tell someone. And if you see someone being bullied, don't be a bystander. Tell an adult, or try to distract the bully.

It was the first day of school. Katie was getting ready. Her bus stop was down the road, and she had to be there before the bus. While her mother, Donna, was packing her lunch, her father, Steve was helping her brush her teeth. Katie was going to the second grade. She was a little behind, so she didn't know how to do certain things that other second graders can do.

STOP

Finally, the bus arrived to take the children to school. On the bus, Katie sat with her best friend Amelia. They had planned to match on the first day of school. Amelia lived three houses down from Katie, so they saw each other a lot.

The bus pulled up at Central Point Elementary School at 8:14 A.M. Katie got a tad bit nervous as the bus came to a slow stop.

All of the kids started exiting the bus, as the bus driver said, " Have a nice day children. See you later!"

Katie and Amelia made their way into the school, with a bunch of butterflies in their tummy's.

As soon as Amelia and Katie got into the main hallway, one of the forth graders yelled, "Hey dorks! You lost or somethin'?! Get out of here! This is OUR hallway!"

"Actually, this is the main hallway. The upper el hallway is one the other side of the school," replied Amelia.

Katie was shocked! She always admired how brave Amelia was. She wasn't afraid of anyone.

DORKS!

The forth graders began walking toward Amelia and Katie. Katie began shaking, while Amelia had her hands on her hips waiting for the approach.

"You don't talk to Chuck like that!" said Chuck as he was coming upon the girls.

"Just did! We aren't afraid of you! Right Katie?!" replied Amelia in a fierce tone.

"Uh...um.. I...I...uh..." stuttered Katie.

"Hahahaha! Your friend can't even talk! Abuh buh buh! Haha! What a loser!" Chuck said, mocking Katie.

Katie ran off to the nearest bathroom in a panic. Amelia followed, as everybody laughed hysterically. As Amelia entered the restroom, she heard sobbing coming from the second stall. She immediately ran into the stall to comfort her best friend.

You alright Katie?

After what seemed like the longest seven minutes of their lives, the bell rung. Katie and Amelia got up and went to class. Katie was in Mr. Stanley's class, and Amelia was in Ms. Morris' class. They were kind of upset that they didn't have the same class, but they would see each other during recess. The upper el hall and lower el hall had recess at different times, so there would be no issues.

Right as the upper el kids were heading out for their recess at 12:15 P.M, Katie was going to use the restroom. While on her way to the restroom, she ran into Chuck and his crew. She instantly began trembling.

"Well, well, well. Look what we have here. If it isn't four eyes. Where is your friend? Cause clearly you can't speak for yourself." Chuck snarked.

"Um...she uh... she's um..." stuttered Katie.

"Hahaha! LOSER!" Chuck says as he shoves Katie to the ground.
