Dedicated to Miss Mader’s grade 1 class at Newcombville Elementary School whom I am so excited to work with and learn from.

Once upon a time there was a small village that could be found in the middle of the woods. In this village there was a Farmers market filled with fruits, vegetables and the best smelling desserts around.
Outside of the market sat a multicolored maple tree. This is where Crosby lived. Crosby lived alone and rarely had anyone come visit him. One day when Crosby was feeling lonely, he decided to visit the market.

Once Crosby was inside he started looking around for some people. He suddenly became distracted when he noticed a giant plate of S'more cookies that Mary-Ann had just taken out of the oven. Crosby looked at the cookies that were cooling and decided to eat four and then three more. He quickly flew away before anyone even knew he was there.
“Ahhhhhh!” shrieked Mary-Ann. “Who ate my cookies?” she asked. No one confessed or saw anyone take any. Despite the cookie mystery, Mary-Ann mixed up a new batch to replace the missing cookies.
The next morning Crosby decided to visit the market again to see if anyone was there. When he got to the door he realized it was locked. However, he did notice a giant pile of juicy red apples stacked on a table outside. Crosby had not had breakfast yet and decided to eat two of the apples. They were the juiciest apples Crosby had ever eaten. He decided to have two more “No one will notice if some are missing,” he thought.

Later that morning when Elizabeth came to open the market, she noticed her apple pile was smaller than what she had left it. “Someone stole my apples!” stated Elizabeth angrily. After looking all around the market for the missing apples, she finally gave up on her search. Elizabeth put a smile on her face and brought out some more apples from the fridge to replace the ones that went missing.
After Crosby had awakened from his afternoon nap he was feeling bored and thought he would try again to see if anyone was at the market. When he flew into the store, he did not see one person. What he did see was a pepperoni and cheese pizza that was sitting on the counter. Crosby’s eyes widened and he gulped down three pieces and then two more.

"Ahhhhhh!” screamed Rebecca when she came to get the pizza for lunch. “Someone has eaten part of my pizza,” she stated with a disappointed look on her face. She had invited three friends for lunch and did not have enough time to make another pizza. Rebecca then had to recut the pizza so she would have enough for herself and her friends.
