Once upon a time, there was a boy named Ralph. Ralph had been on a plane with many other boys, but the plane crashed! Ralph is on an island, and soon he meets a boy named Piggy.

Together, Ralph and Piggy found a pretty white shell called a conch in the water and Piggy taught Ralph how to blow it. Ralph made a great big sound with the conch and called many boys to where he and Piggy were. They meet a boy named Jack.

Many of the boys were very little, but there were also boys who were big like Ralph and Piggy. Everyone thought that they should choose a chief to be in charge, and Jack wanted it to be him, but the boys chose Ralph instead and that made Jack sad.

Ralph told Jack that he could be the leader of the hunters and chose Jack and Simon to go exploring with him.

The three boys explored the island together and found a mountain that they could build a fire on to be rescued. They are very happy about being on this island together.

On their way back to tell the others, Ralph, Simon, and Jack saw a pig. Jack wanted the pig to be their friend, but he was too shy.

"Next time for sure!" Jack said. "We'll definitely be friends next time!"

Back at the beach, Ralph calls a meeting to tell the boys about the fire they should build. Everyone is very happy and they all go up to the mountain, using wood and Piggy's glasses to light it. Jack continues to try to make friends with the pig, but he still can't do it.

Ralph and Simon are building shelters but the other boys are not helping. After a while Simon goes into the forest to find a quiet and beautiful place to stay. Simon likes this place.

Now, every day, the little boys are having nightmares about a "beastie" on the island. Ralph tells them

that there is no such

thing as a beast on the

island and that they

should not be scared.

Later, as Ralph is playing in the water, he spots a ship!

He and Piggy look to see if there was a fire on the mountain so that the ship could rescue them, but there was no fire! Ralph and Piggy get very angry at Jack for not lighting the fire.

Jack had finally made friends with the pig so he is mad at Ralph and Piggy for not being happy.

Jack accidently breaks Piggy's glasses and argues with Ralph, but then he says he is very sorry. Later, Ralph calls a meeting with the conch to talk to the boys about being lazy, keeping the fire, and the beast. The littluns are afraid, but Jack says if there is a beast he will tell it to go away and that makes everyone excited.

At night, twins named Sam and Eric fell asleep while they were watching the fire on the mountain. A sleepy man with a parachute falls from the sky without anyone knowing, and when Sam and Eric wake up they are scared of the stranger. They tell the biguns about the scary man on the mountain and the boys go to look for him.
