This book is dedicated to the imagination of my two wonderful children who laughed at my silly stories about shifty eye's until they inspired me to bring him to life on the pages of this book. Thank you Daniel and Kara Just.
I love you,
Mom

Ol’ Shifty Eyes wants to run! He does not want his nice wool coat sheared off. As Fa-Fa-Farmer Bi-Bill approaches Ol’ Shifty’s pen to corral him to the sheering station, shifty cowers down shaking.

He looks left, he looks right, then left then right again furiously scouring with his eyes for the perfect place to hide.
As Fa-Farmer Bi-Bill opens the gate, Ol’ Shifty Eyes, takes off! He bolts through Bill’s legs almost knocking him down.
“Gosh darn Ol’ Shifty! I-I-I’m goin’a get you!” shouted Farmer Bill as he took off after Shifty. Shifty blazed a path towards the neighbor’s garden and slid underneath an overturned wheel barrow.

Farmer Bill lugged himself across the Farm to the neighbor’s garden. Upon entering the garden he scanned the area for Ol’ Shifty but, he was nowhere to found.
Shifty laid there shaking. As Farmer Bill took one last look around, he spotted Shifty’s tail shaking back forth as it stuck out from under the wheel barrow.

Shifty heard Fa-Fa-Farmer Bill starting to run towards him. Shifty shot out from under the wheel barrow through the garden and hid behind the old red tractor.

As shifty peered around the big tractor tire he saw Farmer Bill standing near the water spout scoping their farm. Shifty crouched down, shaking. He looked left, then right, then left, then right looking for his next place to hide. Farmer Bill checked behind the hay bale, then headed towards the red tractor.
This was very close to where Shifty was hiding. Too close, Shifty wasn’t taking any chances. He bolted across the farm and towards the barn. As he went towards the fence he slipped in the mud that had pooled from the overnight rain.

It made him slide him right under the fence and into the pigs pen. Shifty was filthy and covered in mud. He looked up and there was Fa-Fa-Farmer Bi-Bill looking down Shifty.
