Deforestation is a big problem

Once upon a time, deforestation and soil degradation was a really big problem in the world. Wonder why the farmer is having trouble with his plants? Deforestation and soil degradation. Little did the people know that it was going to get much worse, and put the fate of their planet Dredewe, is at stake.

Oh my gosh, isn't the weather really hot today?

It's been hotter than usual in this village which was due to-- you guessed it, deforestation. The villagers were frightened. on what was to come.

This was strange to the villagers as for they used to protect their beloved land, although now they have lost interest and don't seem to care as much as they used to.

Meanwhile at the observatory...

An old scientist was examining the stars as usual, until he saw a flare, which he thought was a star. But soon he will realize that it's something way more dangerous, a solar flare.

Times used to be really different.

When the villagers used to care a lot for their beloved planet, and cutting trees were strictly prohibited.

That was, until, a goblin came. The goblin started cutting down trees and found many uses from it.

This is how deforestation became a major problem in Dredewe. Since the forests became more and more taken down, more and more animals have lost their homes and these woodland creatures were never seen again by the villagers.

The elders were infuriated, until they realized all the valuable objects they could make with the trees. Then they hired him to cut down the trees. They started cutting down more and more. Now as you're reading this story you'll start to realize all the connections, like how deforestation affects the weather and soil, solar flares affecting the weather, soil degradation affecting the plants.

Years and years have passed, and almost 80% of trees are gone and cut down.

Since the trees aren't covering the plants and soil, the soil is losing its fertility and is drying up more, which is bad because forest soils are supposed to be moist. This was soil degradation. Other causes of soil degradation is loss of organic matter, decline in structural condition, erosion effects of toxic chemicals pollution, and excessive flooding.

Aha! I've got it!

The old scientist came up with a theory on how the solar flare had happened. He theorized that their source of light, the "Fireball" (the Sun) would watch the people's moves. If they did something wrong, the Fireball would be angered. Sometimes, the Fireball would scorch some houses or so.
