I dedicate this book to the Newell - Fonda graduating class of 23.

I am Leonardo da Vinci.
I was born April 14, 1452, in Anchiano, Tuscany. I had 9 brothers and 3 sisters! No wander my father didn't realize my talent until I was 15. My father married the amazing, beautiful, 16 year old Albiera. She was an amazing mother but sadly died young.
One day when I was a very young child, I was watching a bird kite fly in the sky. Suddenly there was a gust of wind and the kite started to fall. It landed on me, and the tail feathers kept hitting me in the face. It was a very traumatic experience for me.

I had math, reading and writing which was the normal education. All of these things help me with my art, like math helps me figure out angels and other things. I was pulled out of school at the age of 15 to go assist Andrea del Vercocchio.
I have always love d to paint, draw, and sculpt. Going to assist for Andrea del Vercocchio was an amazing opportunity. We worked together very closely in Florence, Italy. She taught me metal work, leather arts, and carpentry.
I was born an illegitimate child which means my parents were never married. Being an illegitimate child was hard in many ways. But one of the worst times to be an illegitimate child was when trying to get into a university. I was not able to get into a university.
It was very devastating, but it was life, and life meant I didn't get as much education as some one with married parents and lots of money.

Although I wasn't able to attend a university, I was able to study advanced human anatomy. This helped me greatly with my atomicall drawings. They were among the most significant of Renaissance history.

I have spent 17 years in Milan, and I have completed 6 paintings. 6!!! I have so many uncompleted drawings its un-believeable! I haven't even made many sculptures in the time I've been here.
I have always loved art. Even as a kid I would always be doing art. When I die, I want people to know me for my amazing art, not just some guy who could paint. One of my greatest regrets was not finishing "The Adoration of the Magi" and "St. Jerome." They were both amazing, but for some reason I didn't finish them.

I have made many plans and drawings like the first plane and helicopter and have plans to start building them as soon as I can. Being an artist has helped me greatly with the prototypes and models.
