Where were you born? How did your birth go?
Larry L. Boeschling was born in Marysville, KS on November 13, 1951. He has 3 brothers and no sisters. He is one of the middle children in the family of 4.

When have you been the most satisfied in your life?
Larry's most satisfying time in his life is when his son was born.
What do you remember about your parents or grandparents?
One thing he remembers about growing up is naps with his grandpa. They would always take naps in the afternoon and go outdoors and do other things after they woke up.

What did you want to be when you grew up?
When he was growing up he wanted to be a Forest Ranger. Not many people know this is what he wanted to do. He has thought about doing it since he was 10 years old.
What was your first job? When was your favorite job out of all of the ones you have had?
Larry's first job was a mechanic at a FORD dealership. His his favorite job is the one that he has now. He can be outside as much as he wants and he always has something to do to keep him busy.
What do you want your children and grandchildren to remember about you?
There are many things that he wants his grandchildren to remember but the most important thing he would like us to remember is that he loves the outdoors and that he enjoys spending time with his family.




How did you meet your spouse? How old were you when you met/ got engaged/ got married?
He met his spouse when he was at the bowling ally. They first met in 1980 when he was just 29. When he was 40 they got engaged and they finally got married when he was 41.
What were your children like growing up?
When his children were growing up they were very good for everything they went through. They got through all of the tough times. With all the trials they had everything worked out in the end.
What big world events were the most memorable while you were growing up?
The biggest world event that he will never forget is the time that John F. Kennedy was assassinated.

Did your parents ever share their memories with you about the day you were born?
Yes. They shared a lot of stories with him. His brothers also shared memories about them growing up.
What was your favorite book or movie and why? What is your favorites now?
His favorite book is Lonesome Dove by Larry McMurty. This is his favorite book because is has to do with the outdoors and cattle. He loves this book because he works in the outdoors all the time and he has also worked with cattle for a long long time. When I go to visit in the summer I could always remember the day they would come and bring the cattle and look forward to spending the day rounding them up.
What makes your spouse special or unique?
One thing he loves about his wife is that no matter what they are doing they can always read each others mind. They always know what one is going to say. No matter if they are in the same room or one is in Kansas and the other is in Arizona and they are talking on the phone they can always predict what the other is going to say.

What is the best thing about being a parent? A grandparent?
The best part about being a parent is seeing how they turn out and seeing the best grandchildren they could ever ask for. His favorite part about being a grandparent is how he gets to spoil them and then gets to send them home. He also loves the time he gets to spend with us because he didn't have that with his own children.

What things are more important to you now? Why?
The things that are most important to him now is the family, friends, and health. He thinks these are the most important things in his life because he is "Not getting any younger"!

Have any of your dreams and goals changed through life? If so how much have they changed?
There are a lot of things that have changed but the one that changed the most is the thought of him being back in Kansas by now.
Did you have a nickname when you were growing up? How many people called you by that nickname if you had one?
When he was younger the first nickname he had was Bush. He believes that people called him this because it was a lot easier to pronounce that his last name. As he got older his nickname changed to speed racer.
Where did you attend grade school? High school? What were they like?
He attended grade school at a little school in the country. When they say little they mean it. He went to school in a one room school for 1st grade through 3rd. After that He went to high school at Waterville High School. One thing about that school is that it was 2 schools. One was Waterville and the other was Blue Valley. They used to be arch rivals but they soon became one school combined. They had to learn to like each other after all of this happened.
Do you remember the first time you saw a cell phone? What did you think?
Yes. The first time he saw a phone he thought it was cool. It looked like a brick and hooked up to a car and became a phone jack. It was so weird and looked so much like a brick that they called it a brick phone.
What did your family do for fun when you were a child?
When he was younger his family went to Colorado and would go to the mountains. It is kinda weird to know this because I don't think he saw himself actually living in the mountains. He now lives with his wife in the mountains and enjoys the outdoors more and more everyday.
What U.S. President have you admired the most and why?
Ronald Reagan was the president that he admired the most. He admired him the most because he had common scenes and the ability to bring others together with anything that he did.
How did you react to the assassination of J.F.K? Where were you when you heard about it?
When he had heard the John F. Kennedy had been shot he was in shock. He could not believe that it had happened. He was in p.e. class when him and his class mates were told about it.
What did you do when you heard about 911? Where were you when it happened?
When he heard about 911 he was wondering how he was going to get home. He was 1,500 miles away from home and just wanted to be home. He couldn't worry more about how he was going to get home that day.
What is your proudest moment?
Larry's proudest moment in his life is when he became the president of the Feternal Order of Eagles in Arizona.
What is your biggest regret?
One of his biggest regrets out of his whole life is not having a good relationship with his son. He wishes that they could just have a normal life and get along again and become a happy family.
What is your advice to teenagers today?
His advice to teenagers today is to stay in school and not to do drugs.
One of his most memorable times in the summer is when his granddaughter (me) comes out to spend time with him. He also enjoys that times that they go out just the two of them and when they are driving back home that they love to sing together. Their favorite song is "Show me the Way to go Home" by Frank Crumit.
I love you grandpa!! I miss you!! I wish we got to see each other more often! You and grandma need to move back to Kansas so I can see you more often!
