A is for adultery. That sin that Hester committed which causes her to have walk around with the a Scarlet letter ¨A¨ on her chest.

B is for blasphemous!

This is what Hester´s neighbors thought of her sin.

C is for the child that Hester conceived which was born an outcast.

D is for Demon.The townspeople thought Pearl was a demon because not  only was she born out of wedlock but she was born from sin.

E is for Europe. Which is where Hester Prynne and Arthur Dimmesdale planned to escape to.

F is for frustrated. Chillingworth is frustrated when Dimmesdale dies because it means that he no longer has a purpose.

G is for guilt. Which caused Dimmesdale to become very ¨ill¨ and carve his own letter ¨A¨ into his chest over his heart.

H is for Hester. The protagonist of the story. She uses her innate strength to transform the meaning of her punishment; and she actually questions the insane, hypocritical morals of her community.

I is for integrity. This is something Dimmesdale is seriously lacking because he refuses to admit to his sin and claim Pearl as his daughter.

J is for judged. Hester stands in front of all the townspeople daily while they watch and judge her.

K is for kind. Hester was very kind to the poor people. Even though this was not at all reciprocated.

L is for loyalty. Hester showed her loyalty because she did not reveal Dimmesdale was the father and she did not reveal Chillingworth's identity either.

M is for marriage. Which Hester ended when she committed adultery.

N is for the night sky. Where Hester saw the stars form into the letter ¨A¨.

O

O is for ostracized. The townspeople of Boston excluded Hester from the community.

P

P is for Pearl. She is Hester's daughter. She is extremely moody, asks a lot of questions, and smart (maybe too smart for her own good).
