Phyllis met Robert in Goodland Kansas. She was coming home from college when she was attending the University of Northern Colorado. At the time she lived in Denver and she had came home for break. Robert thought Phyllis was married. Robert had been previously married but his wife had passed away. They dated for awhile and soon after she had been proposed. While they dated, they dated long distance. Robert was currently running an accounting office in Goodland. They met when she was 29 and got married once she turned 30.
Love Life
Once they were married, Robert already had 4 children with his previous wife that was deceased. Soon later they had 2 kids of their own, Michelle and Lee. She loved all her kids the same. She describes all of her kids as all fun but each one is fun in their own little way.
Kids
She described her spouse to be very funny but yet serious. He worked all the time. She always admired how he was a good dad and he provided well for the family. Because of Roberts job she got to do a lot of traveling. Most of their travel was through business. They always traveled at least 2 times a year for big meetings for CPA's.
How she describes her spouse.
She remembers that once Robert kept leaving in the mornings. Too early to go to work. He got up at 4 in the morning to be exact. Everyday he got up and left the house before going to work. As she started to notice she got suspicious until one day and she followed him and found out that he was taking flying lessons. Soon after he bought a business plane and flew all over the country. After he retired he flew one last time and then sold the plane.

How my family celebrated the holidays: had Christmas decor and always gave presents.
on Christmas they always had big dinners.
Family members who I would typically see during the holidays: she would gather her whole family. recently its been kids, grandkids, siblings, and her mother.
My Home
Did any wars affect you or your family?
Dad was a train conductor. He moved troop trains.
Mom didn't have much money for food but they were always fed.
Most of the food that was harvested was used in the war. Militants had priority on food. Her family had ration stamps for food but one advantage was that they got all the milk they wanted from a neighbor because she owned cows.
Memorable World Events
Attack on Pearl Harbor
WW2
Olympics in Bejing
Worlds Fair: Brustles Belguim; it was a fair about commerce, new things in the world. The worlds fair took place in large cities. Companies set up their commerce in large buildings. She had gone to the one in New York in 1965. When she went the first Mustang was introduced. Years later she went back and she saw when the lamborgini was introduced.
Things that were popular
Some popular clothes back then were skirts and sweaters. There were mainly long skirts that were being used. No girls wore jeans because jeans for girls weren't invented yet.
Some of the popular hobbies were gardening flowers and vegetables. It was what all her neighbors did. as well as cooking and baking. She mostly enjoyed baking.
Challenge
Challenges faced when growing older: The biggest challenge was getting use to being a widow.
"best thing to do is get a little sister"
And this is how I overcame that challenge: she got a little sister and a dog.
