What if someone is choking at a party and you can help them but you don't know how? Here are some signs for you to use CPR:
~ No breathing/ Difficult to breathe
~ No pulse
~ Unconsciousness

Treatment for Infants
~ Gently shake or tap the baby.
~ If the baby is unresponsive, tell someone to call 911.
~ Place the infant gently on their backside.
~ Place two fingers on the infant's breast plate
~ Keep one hand on the baby's forehead keeping their head tilted.
~ Start 30 chest compression. These should be fast and hard (not too hard). No pausing. Open the airways, listen and look for signs of recovery.
Treatment for Adults
~ Shake or tap the person
~ Call 911 and get an AED if available.
~ Perform 30 chest compression.

Choking
How do you know when someone is choking or having trouble breathing. Here are some warning signs:
~ Not able to talk
~ Noisy Breathing
~ Not able to cough with enough force
~ Skin, lips or nail start to turn blue
Treatment for Infants
~ Five and Five : Five Back Blows and Five Chest Thrust
Treatment for Adult
~ Five and Five : Five Back Blows and Five Chest Thrust
~ For pregnant or obese person, do abdominal thrust

Severe Allergic Reactions
Picture a person eating something with an ingredient that they're allergic to. Here are some signs:
~ Swelling in the throat,face,lips and tongue
~ Hives or welts
~ Vomiting
~Trouble Breathing
The only treatment is to inject the person with epinephrine immediately and call 911.

Heat Related Emergency
What if you and a friend are chilling in he summer sun. all of a sudden your friend faints and you do not know why. You friend just experienced a heat related emergency called a heat exhaustion. Here are some signs of Heat Exhaustion.
~ Dizziness
~ Fast heart rate or breathing
~ Pale skin
~ Heavy sweating
~ Fainting
Here are some things you can do to help:
~ Move out of the direct sunlight
~ Apply cool towels to your body
~ Have a friend fan you
~ Drink cool water every 15 minutes. Don't drink too quickly.
Heat Stroke
This is a much worst version of heat exhaustion. Here are some signs of Heat Stroke:
~ Body temp. over 104 degrees
~ Hallucinations
~ Seizures
~ Dry Skin
Here are some treatments for a heat stroke:
~ Move person out of direct sunlight
~ Remove sweaty clothing
~ Fan the person's skin
~ Offer water or sports drink if the person is conscious.

Frostbite
Picture you and your friends are ice skating. You do not realize that the ice you are skating on is thin until you fall through. Your friends help you after 10 minutes in the water. Here are some signs that may tell you if you have Frostbite:
~ Numbness
~ Red, white, bluish-white or grayish-yellow skin
~ Hard or waxy-looking skin
~ Blistering after rewarming, in severe cases
Here are some ways you can get cured:
~ Seek medical assistance
~ Restore warmth to the area
~ Bandage the area
~ Follow up with medical professionals.
