What Does a Zoologist Engineer Do?

A Zoologist Engineers is a person who designs and creates animal habitats for zoo animals. Zoologist Engineers also study how the animals act and interact with ecosystems. Zoologists study the animal's physical characteristics, diets, and behaviors.

Zoologists interact with other Zoologists to compare their findings of specific animal species. They also write journals and reports with other Zoologists after comparing data. Sometimes, they work with others to help out in the findings.

Zoologists can not stay in one place for long periods of time. They travel to different places where the animals came from to study their original habitats. They do that to make the animal's new enclosure look as close to home as possible.

Zoologists travel to new zoos and aquariums that have recently been built to compare habitats and improve them. A Zoologist's job is more likely an outside job rather than an inside job. They study creatures from insects to whales.

What Tools Do They Use?

Zoologists work in many places so they need many different tools. In the lab they use many expensive tools such as: scalpels and tweezers. They also prepare slides for microscopes. Zoologists use syringes for taking blood tests from the animals.

Zoologists use different tools for each place they are in, like in a real habitat in the wild. They use scoops, nets, samplers to sample different environments and species. They also use traps and tranquilizers to view and test the animals and their behaviors.

In the zoo the Zoologists use many tools for many different jobs. Zoologist use tools like tape measures and levels to position where they want to put an enclosure. They have to have the right tools for the right projects so the animals are happy.

Zoologist also use different gear like Scuba Suits and warm coats so that they can set up the different temperatures of habitats. Zoologist also have to use tools to protect them selves if they are in a habitat with a dangerous animal. Zoologist use many different tools to get the job done!
