Hello, we are the Smith family. We come from England and are some of the first settlers in America due to the fact that we decided to make a great risk and a new discovery.

Our whole life has consisted of a trip to America, so that has made us experts about averything there.

We want to tell you about all our experience!!!

First, we are going to start telling you about the stories and events that happened before we arrived, and that is why we got inspired.

Once upon a time, there was a land populated by tons of Native American tribes throughout everywhere, it was called North America.

In the opposite side of the world was Europe, but the people in there didn’t know anything about the beautiful America. The European explorers, such as Christopher Columbus only wanted to discover a route to India, which could make them really wealthy and could spread lots of Catholicism.

So they ended up in America even though they thought it was India.. Later, it was that Amerigo Vespucci discovered it wasn’t India and was a new land, so he named it after himself; America.

After all of these adventure and discoveries, it was our time. The time to take a life change risk, that could end up horrible or incredible experience, and could let us celebrate freely our own religion.

Our family is brave, adventurous, challenging, and stubborn, otherwise, we wouldn’t have made this exhausting trip in a demanding boat.

Much later......

Well sorry, we were busy while in this long lasting boat trip, that is why we didn’t keep on with the story, but we will continue.Till now everything has been great because everyone here is courageous,people are cooperative by working as a team and trying to be tolerant. Furthermore, everyone is giving all they have while working and while trying to be nice for the good of every passenger and the colonists.Lastly, help from the Native Americans. Without them, we wouldn't survived.

We arrived at Caped Cod, not what we expected since we wanted to be with the Jamestown colonists, but we will overcome that obstacle. Our family has ended up in the Northern colonies, which are freezing cold, with rocky soil that lead up to small (subsistence) farms, are stubborn and specialized in teamwork. The other colonies are the opposite since they have a warm climate, which has much bigger plantations with the most southern with slaves, and lots of trading and diverse population in the middle colonies.

Everything has been really harsh right now, because of the weather, hunger, and diseases, but we are managing it perfectly and are triumphing right now, for the situations we are in.

Sorry, but I, Edison Smith am dying, so I will give this journal to my son Thomas Smith, which has accompanied me throughout all this trip since a new born baby.

Hey! I am Thomas Smith, and I will tell you what is happening right now. My dad doesn’t know because he is too old and is super indoors in our house and is always sleeping isolated, so that is why he doesn’t know anything about this. Right now, there is a war called the French and Indian War between the French and British.

The British are attacking the French since they want more land in the Ohio River Valley since it will make them wealthier and more powerful. This river valley will allow better and more abundant transportation, fertile land, and trading. This is everything I know up till now. In a month I will write down about what happened and the fight result because it is really on fire and I have to be cautious about everything in my surroundings.

Three years later...

No way!!!! The British won,  and now they have the valley, but ended up in a big debt, since they invested tons on the war to win. Who will pay the war debt?? I think the British citizens will ?

Taxation without representation!!!!!!!!!!!

Noooooo!!!! The taxes are enormous! Why they do that!! It’s so unfair, and also that there is taxation without representation, at least they should give us representation in the government. This British are ridiculously unfair and mentally crazy. We didn’t decide to fight against the French and didn’t ask for our opinion.

Years later after the insanely high taxes and fees ......

Hey! Long time without writing about my journey! I will tell you about what is happening right now; All of us, the colonists are joining and uniting to fight and rebel against the professional British soldiers to gain independence, no matter how hard it is and long it takes.

All that tremendous and valuable effort was immensely helpful since we won to those invincible soldiers, with tons of determination, who ended up nothing against us. Now, we are independent of those unprincipled and corrupt people.

Now, that we are free and independent, us Americans, are writing a spectacular constitution that will make most population happy without many struggles.
