This book is dedicated to USC Rebels Elementary students to read and enjoy reading it. Thank you.

The first step in reading a recipe is sitting down and reading it.

Read the Recipe....Sit Down

Read It Again!!
Note any small details that might change how long it takes for you to make your recipe. Mark these with a highlighter or pencil. Make sure to pay special attention to small measurements and details in the recipe.

Children's Cookbook
When reading a recipe make sure you circle the time of how long the food will take to make. And be sure to circle the temperature for the food you are making and how it should be made.

Circle the Time and Temperature
The next step in reading a recipe is that you should draw a square around the sizes of the recipe. This will help with finding the sizes easier.
Draw a Square Around the Sizes

Make sure you have all your saucepans, jelly roll pan and place it on the counter with an towel and put the number of your group on it.
Gather the Equipment
The seventh step in reading a recipe is that you should look at the ingredients list. Then you should gather the ingredients for the recipe. Make sure you have enough to finish the recipe. If you are unsure of what an ingredient is, ask your teacher

Gather the Ingredients

The eighth step for reading a recipe is being mindful. Be sure to notice the ingredients that need to be thawed or brought to room temperature. Recipe writers usually list ingredients in order of use, so make sure to follow that order when adding ingredients.
Be Mindful
Respect the Order of the Steps
It is important to number the order of steps if you do not see them. This step ties in with the last step. It will also save you trouble and a headache. It is better to be safe than sorry.
Assign Tasks for Each Person
Make sure you work together with your friends. If you all work together, everybody will be happy and do their jobs right. Split up the jobs so that everybody knows what they will be doing and not get confused. If you don't know how to split it up, ask your teacher. :)
